The Japanese Twitter account forRecord of Ragnarokannounced on August 18 that a Season 2 of the anime is in production, a brand new key visual was shared as well.

The tweet states that the second season is in production, but with no further information. We have no release date forRecord of RagnarokSeason 2 yet. Season 1 was handled by animation production Graphinica so it’s likely it’s continuing on for Season 2. It’s also been confirmed character designer Masaki Satô will return, seeing he drew the S2 key visual.
Moreover, the tweet also states that the first season will be broadcast on several channels in Japan: Tokyo MX, BS11, MBS, and Cartoon Network. Previously,Record of Ragnarokwas a Netflix exclusive.

Long story short,Record of Ragnarokis a hot-blooded fighting manga. It’s almost similar to a boss rush or constant tournament arc, as we go from match to match of various historical figures and divinities fighting each other.
The first anime season ofRecord of Ragnarokwas controversial for several aspects. Netflix ended upcanceling its release in Indiadue to the series' religious references and characters. Some of the fans of the manga were also disappointed about the animation quality, which can be explained due toRecord of Ragnarokbeing a Netflix project.
