Pokémon’smost iconic team consisted of Ash, Rachael Lillis’ Misty, and Brock. The trio was impactful enough to leave a mark on fans, and the way they held the fanbase for the longest time defined many people’s childhoods. Each of these characters had their growth, showing moments where they were low and those when they weren’t. What contributed more was how well they were seen growing as trainers.

One of the biggest examples of the same was Ash’s control of Charizard after his rebellious streak was infamous for testing his patience. On the same spectrum lays Psyduck, Misty’s iconic Pokémon that wasn’t much help during fights but would strike when least expected. There could have been a possibility that Psyduck was Misty’s strongest Pokémon, however, she just wasn’t ready to train him.

Psyduck Is Like Charizard InPokémon?

Misty was an iconic character from the world ofPokémon.Although her character was a very important part of the story of Ash Ketchum, one of the more frustrating parts of her story was the arc she had with Psyduck. While the Pokémon and his quirks were chalked up for comedic relief, there were several moments where his rigidity made it almost dangerous for Misty.

It is easy to assume that it was just a Pokémon with an attitude problem. However, one fan onRedditcame up with a theory that would perfectly explain why it was as frustrating as it was. There is a very significant storyline involving Ash where his Charmeleon evolves into Charizard and everything changes between the two.

Instead of listening to Ash, he does as he pleases and ends up getting him close to losing several times. However, as the story progresses, Ash has to gain the respect of his Pokémon again in order for him to listen to his owner.

Even though Charizard was extremely powerful, his level was too high for Ash, and he had to get on the same level as his Pokémon to be able to fight together. The fan suggested the possibility that Misty’s Psyduck could be similar in this way.

Psyduck May Be Stronger Than It Looks

Throughout most of his appearances, Psyduck is evidently useless. It refuses to listen to Misty and is too lazy to even consider fighting. It is always dumbfounded and is always confused about how it ends up outside its Poké Ball. Unlike most Psyducks, it cannot swim, which is quite odd considering the fact that it is a waterPokémon. On paper, it is almost comically insignificant and frustrating.

However, there are rare moments when this dynamic switches up. When it is too annoyed or angry at someone hurting it or Misty, it often acts out and ends up causing considerable damage to his enemies. So much so, that the powers it shows deem it to be stronger than all of her other Pokémons.

With this in mind, the fan suggested that the kind of relationship Psyduck shares with his owner could be similar to what Charizard and Ash had. They suggested that instead of Psyduck simply being a dumb Pokémon, perhaps it is stronger than it looks, and there is simply a drastic difference in levels between it and Misty.

It is also important to remember that later on, their dynamic does get better and their fights end up becoming more intense thanks to growth. It could be perhaps that Misty grew in levels and ended up finally fitting with Psyduck.
