One of your first encounters in bothScarlet and Violetis the newvillainous team, Team Star. This band of not-so-delinquents is flashy, loud, yet quite sympathetic and well-rounded even forPokemonvillains. They have a full storyline dedicated to their downfall, but after all’s said and done, you may find yourself wanting to tackle this group at least one more time.

Thefive memberswill remain scattered around the Paldea region, waiting for you to return andfight them as many times as you’d like. They’ll be short their cars, and short their backup, but their leveled-up Pokemon will be more than ready to make up for that.
Finding The Five Bosses
By this point in the game, you will also be able torematch the gym leadersthroughan evaluationand fight some of the other friendly faces from your journey through the Ace Tournament. However, none of the five heads of Team Star you took down are part of the Tournament. To rematch them, you will have to go back to their bases. The gates will be open, the gang members will not bother you, and the leaders will be simply standing in front of their tents. Talk to them, and they will happily spar with you, and they are open forone rematch per day. This leads toinfinite rematcheswhich can be perfect forpost-game grinding.
If you’re having trouble finding them on the map, you may have to zoom all the way out andspot their iconsleftover from the main quest objectives. They don’t appear on the map any other way, so sadly a bit of memory has to come into play for the rematches. If you think you’re in the right area, just look for thelong fences, and remember the leader will bein front of a large tent in the back of the base.

Giacomo: Dark-Type Boss
TheDark-type DJwill happily accept the chance to fight you again, with laptop and boombox in hand.
Like the Gym Leader rematches, each Team Star rematch have an equal playing field witha team of four Pokemon that all share a level, plus an ace who is a single level higher. This is where the similarities end, however. Team Star will have a few different rules, specifically regarding their ace Pokemon. They will not save the ace for lastand may pull it out if they decide the attacks would match up nicely with whatever Pokemon you are currently using.

Attacks and Defense are considered by the rematches. Using Giacomo for example, if you used a Bug type to squash his Cacturne at the start, he is likely to choose Honchkrow next or even Krookodile as it knows Fire Fang. These rematches will think ahead as well as on their feet, as their move sets have simple yet effective counters.Unlike the Gym Leaders, Team Star will not Terastalize. While a big change, this doesn’t make the fights all that much easier.
Dark is weak to Fighting, Bug, and Fairy. Bring a team with these types or with varied attacks of these types. Dark types are strong against Ghost and Psychic types as well as being fullyimmune to Psychic attacks.

Mela: Fire-Type Boss
Mela was the first Team Star member introduced byThe Pokemon Company, and thisFire-type memberis ready to let loose (at least) one more time.
Rock, Water, andGroundare strong against Fire types. Players of Violet may find it odd to see Armarogue listed on her team as it’s a Scarlet exclusive, but Mela, it turns out, is not beholden to the same rules as you. Regardless of version, she uses theFire/Psychic-typePokemonArmarogue.

Atticus: Poison-Type Boss
The pretty boy of Poison types will happily take up someninja trainingby battling with you.
Poison types have few weaknesses, those being Ground and Psychic.Toxapex can also use a nasty attack called Baneful Bunker which will block all damage and badly poison your Pokemon.Poison damage in general is likely in this rematch. Out of all the rematches, only Atticus uses a Revavroom despite how all of Team Star used them for their vehicles during the storyline.

Ortega: Fairy-Type Boss
Walk up to him for a rematch, and Ortega will happily remind you whyFairy typesare brutal in the right hands.
Like Poison, Fairy has a short list of weaknesses, ironically one of them being Poison. The other is Steel. This makes Ortega’s starting choice of Klefki deviously clever as it isimmune to Poison and neutral to Steel, so it may tank your pre-planned hits or take advantage of a switch-out by setting up bothLight ScreenandReflect. Ortega’s team is heavy on the defensive side as it is, so if Klefki can start this setup, the battle will be far harder.
Eri: Fighting-Type Boss
Theface-painted wrestlerwill gladly find the time to fight you with herFighting-type Pokemon.
Eri’s team knows moves of nearly every type, and she is prepared to hit you hard and fast no matter what you brought. Fighting types areweak to Psychic, Fairy, and Flying. While this fight can be a challenge, if you come prepared, you should have little trouble defeating her team of stellar Fighting-type Pokemon.
