Pokemon GO is just about to celebrate its sixth birthday and Niantic is holding a special Anniversary Event that includes a new Timed Research for players to complete.
GO Fest was held a little earlier this year, usually taking place closer to the yearly anniversary. That has separated the celebrations a little bit this time, as the focus is now squarely on the Pokemon GO Anniversary Event next week. During the event, there will be plenty to do, including the special Timed Research and even a regional spawn that will be available worldwide for the very first time.
When Is The Event?
The Pokemon Go Anniversary Event kicks off on Wednesday, July 6, at 10:00 am local time and will run for just under a week until Tuesday, July 12, at 8:00 pm local time.
During this time, players can celebrate the sixth anniversary of the game with special spawns that include Cake Costume Pikachu, Party Hat Charmeleon, and Party Hat Charizard. In addition, Pansear will also be appearing worldwide for the first time. Until now, the Pokemon has typically only been available in areas of Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
There will also be Field Research that you can acquire and get the various starter Pokemon for completing, along with a number of different spawns that you can read more about on theofficial Pokemon GO blog.
Anniversary Event Timed Research Tasks and Rewards
The Pokemon GO Anniversary Event will celebrate six years of the game being out, and features its own Timed Research for players to complete, which will be available only during the times of the event.
This is a much more involved Timed Research than the usual one, which features only three tasks per step. Instead, this one has six steps with six tasks each to complete, though the final step is just to claim the reward six times.
Thanks toSerebii.net, we have the full breakdown of what the Timed Research will require you to do to complete it all.
As you’re able to see, there’s plenty to do in the Anniversary Event Timed Research in Pokemon GO over the next week or so.
It’s a bit of a letdown that we are only getting Wash Rotom at the end of the research, as Wash Rotom was already introduced into the game back during GO Fest 2020. However, many people probably missed out on Wash Rotom the first time round and this is yet another opportunity to add it to your collection.
Hopefully, this also means that the other Rotom forms will be coming to the game in the near future. They could have certainly picked a better Pokemon for an anniversary event, so we’ll see if there’s a reason for that or not.
