Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (BDSP)has been out for a few days now and a Japanese player going through the game found a pretty hard to trigger but very dangerous save breaking bug.
Save breaking bugs are bugs that either trigger two things: save corruption, where you’re able to’t load the save anymore. Or a softlock. As in while you can load the save, it’s completely useless because you cannot progress anymore. So your only choice left is to restart from the beginning.
This newly discovered bug is part of the later category. It can be triggered when solving Snowpoint City’s Gym’s ice sliding puzzle, just before challenging Suzuna (Candice), the cutest Gym Leader in the game.

Japanese player Monaka explained on Twitter how they got stuck permanently in Snowpoint City’s Gym. They’re unsure how they triggered the bug, but they were unable to get out of the pit located in the center of the gym, after sliding in it from the left slope part.
Monaka explained that after they slid into the pit from the left side, they couldn’t go into any other direction and could only keep sliding to the left or right. The only way to leave was to reset the game and load your save. So if you happen to save your game at that moment, you’ll be stuck forever.
It’s unsure how the bug was triggered, and it seems like it only happens under very specific conditions. You’ll inevitably end up passing through the center pit to solve the Gym’s puzzle. To be extra careful, be sure to save before entering Snowpoint City’s Gym, and do not save until after you’ve beaten Candice and left the Gym.

Another wall/ slope skipping bug has been found in Snowpoint Gym. It could be used to break through the other bug above, or could be used as a skip in speedruns:
