Pokémon Legends: Arceus Merit Points Trading Post Jubilife Village

Vaporeon is the only Pokémon in Legends: Arceus who evolves with the water stone. While the uses of the stone are limited, the methods to obtain one are numerous. Some of them are guaranteed, while some involve a good deal of luck and random chance. It shouldn’t be hard at all to get into a groove and go from not a single water stone to enough for entire boxes of Vaporeon.

The Merit Points Shop

You could give a couple of names to the trading post in Jubilife village. It’s also the Merit Points redemption center and it’s also the Pokémon trading hub. You’ll use the merit points to buy water stones through the item exchange.

Every evolution item is for sale here, including all the stones. The water stone is priced at 1,000 points, which means that buying multiple won’t be so hard in the post-game but will be a bit of a barrier in the early game. You earn merit points through a system where you retrieve lost satchels.

Every time you start an expedition, satchels will appear, and you just have to walk up to them and hit the A button. The satchel owner will be so happy that you will get merit points in return. Sometimes you’ll get around 40, sometimes, you’ll get around 100, and you tend to get satchels of a higher merit point value from the later expedition locations. That said, even early in your journey, you can grind these points by finding all the satchels, leaving back to Jubilife Village, and heading back into another expedition. Tedious but not out of the ordinary for a JRPG.

Eevee’s Evolutions Request

Another guaranteed method to obtaining a water stone is by completing a side quest called Eevee’s Evolutions, sort of. Without spoiling the events of the quest, at one point, the player will be offered one of three evolution stones. One of the choices is water, so by default, picking a water stone during this side quest is a guaranteed method to obtain a water stone.

Blue Ore Deposits

While on an expedition, you can send out one of your Pokémon at an ore deposit, which will reward you with crafting materials and experience points for your current team. Sometimes an evolution stone will be found among the rubble, and the way to find a water stone doing this is easier than it sounds. It has nothing to do with needing to be a sparkling ore deposit, which only means treasure will be found. It has nothing to do with the ore deposit that’s moving, which means a wild Pokémon is hiding inside and will start a battle. The only thing that matters for an evolution stone is the color of the ore. The ore deposits that sometimes have water stones are light blue. Simple as that. Light blue ore deposits have a rare chance of rewarding the player with a water stone.

All the previous methods were far more guaranteed than the chance of Ginter selling one. Ginter is the leader of the Gingko Guild, and he runs a cart just outside the Galaxy Hall headquarters in Jubilife Village. What Ginter sells varies, and not only that, when it comes to stock such as evolution items, he does not use the actual name of the items he is selling you. So, you will have to guess or know ahead of time what he means when you see his stock, but the descriptions are not too cryptic, especially if you know what to look for.Ginter will refer to water stones as water-droplet rocks.

Space-Time Distortions

During an expedition in any section of Hisui, the player has a chance for a space-time distortion. To cause a space-time distortion, all you need to do is wait out the clock. Go collect crafting items, or even just stubbornly stand still if you’d like. Eventually, the event will trigger, but in many ways, that was the easy part.

Space-time distortions will spawn in unique Pokémon such as Eeveelutions and living fossils and randomly give you tons of treasures to pick up. Mostly there will beshardsin multiple colors, but evolution items can appear as well. Similar to the method involved in Ginter, the spawned items will be randomly selected from the possible choices.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus Vaporeon and Light Blue Ore Deposit Cobalt Coastlands

Using a space-time distortion for a water stone is certainly a solution, but due to their nature, space-time distortions are best used to make money from the shards or the rare Pokémon that may spawn. Still, if a space-time distortion spawns, it is always a good idea to check it out just to see what you can get.

Ultimately, no method is better than the trading post, but all methods are worth at least attempting when the option is presented.
