TheIce Agefranchise has come a long way from a simple story about pre-historic animals. Over the years, the series has transformed into something better, turned from three characters to so many more. Changing animal bachelors into fathers, fans have grown alongside their characters.

However, there is something to be said about knowing when enough is enough. Recently, it was announced that a sixth part coming from the series. Upon hearing this news, fans have a lot of feelings, with some bringing up the very first storyline that the series followed.
Ice Age 6—Historically Accurate or a Cash Grab?
The firstIce Agefilm came out in 2002, being a simple concept about three friends who try to aid a human child to help him find his family. Since then, a lot has changed for the franchise. Manny has become a father and Diego and his curt demeanor melted away when he met Shira.
While a lot of growth in the franchise has been excellent, fans cannot help but question its decision to continue. One of the most polarizing discussions in Hollywood is about whether franchises should keep going for as long as it is financially possible, or end at its peak.

While some want to hold onto beloved characters for as long as they possibly can, others wish to have good memories of them instead of watching their quality decline. Granted the real ice age lasted from about 2.6 million years ago to 11,700 years ago, but this does not mean that an animated series about it should do the same.
With this in mind, it is safe to say that fans had diverging reactions when a sixth addition to the franchisewas announced.

Fans Have Great Pitches

At the same time, the majority of the fans weren’t aversive to the idea of the franchise continuing on.
In fact, many started to give potential ideas and directions the story could go in order to make it work as well as the first three films did. The most frequently talked about topic was that of Roshan from the first film. Fans kept asking the franchise to bring the baby back as a grown-up, adding additional storylines here and there.
