Sony has just held its second State of Play event, showcasing the lineup of titles that will be released later this year. The 30+ minutes showcase featured 14 titles from several developers including PlayStation Studios games that will be coming to PS5 and PSVR2.

We have a brand-new look at the remake.

The presentation included announcements that were both hits and misses among fans. Here’s the full list of reveals at the event, ranked from worst to best.

14Until Dawn Remake

Until Dawn Remake, the remake of the 2015 horror title that is in development at Ballistic Moon, got a new trailer at the event with spooky gameplay footage. The release date was also announced for Fall 2024, coming for both PC and PS5. However, the game reveal hasn’t gone as the developer had hoped as fans have criticized the graphics and have said it looks worse than the original game.

13A New Alien VR Game

Popular VR game developer Survios shared a trailer forAlien Rogue Inclusion, the latestAliengame in the iconic horror franchise. The game will only be released for PSVR2 in Holiday 2024 and is developed using Unreal Engine 5. The game has a brand-new storyline set on a planet, Purdan.

12Silent Hill 2 Remake Has A Launch Date

The highly-anticipatedSilent Hill 2remake from Konami and Bloober Team finally got a launch date with a new gameplay trailer. The game is set to launch on June 25, 2025. The trailer showcased protagonist James Sunderland and revealed the enhanced in-game environment and enemies.

The combat scenes were also shown with James going against several demonic nurses before going against Abstract Daddy. James also had a run-in with the creepy Pyramid Head. While this has impressed many, some fans have said the game looks more likeResident EvilthanSilent Hill.

11Path of Exile Sequel Enters Early Access Soon

Developer and publisher Grinding Gear Games also shared a new gameplay trailer for isometric RPG,Path of Exile 2. The trailer included gameplay with multiple classes and boss fights.

The game is scheduled to enter early access for PS5 later this year and will include couch co-op, cross-play, and cross-progression upon release. The game will also have a new gem skill system and unique items.

The game launches in October this year.

10A VR Title from Skydance

Skydance Games, the developer behind the award-winning titleThe Walking Dead Saints and Sinnersannounced its next game for PSVR 2,Behemoth.  The game is a first-person action-adventure VR title launching and features physics-based hand-to-hand combat and boss battles.

The game is set in“the Forsaken Lands”and will see players journey through both cold and hostile enemies to uncover secrets of the land. The game will launch in October 2024 for PSVR2, Meta Quest, and Steam VR.

9Concord Beta Test In July

The event also gave a first good look at Firewalk Studios’ upcoming sci-fi 5v5 multiplayer shooter title. The developer debuted both cinematic and gameplay trailers showing the character and the city in which the game is set. The game is scheduled to launch for PC and PS5 on August 23.

The developer is also holding a beta for the game in July but the reception of the game hasn’t been very well so far. Fans have accused the game of being a clone ofOverwatchand other hero-shooters and have said that it doesn’t have anything unique other than the characters.

8PlayStation Exclusive God of War Ragnarok PC Launch

While players may have expected to hear something from Santa Monica Studios about its next project, all they got was a trailer announcing that the 2022 action titleGod of War Ragnarokis releasing on PC this September 19. The PC version will come with the Valhalla DLC and have PC-centric features. Gamers are happy but the PSN account requirement may not sit right with many.

7Infinity Nikki

Infinity Nikkiis a new open-world dress-up adventure game from Infold Games. The game received a brief trailer showing the protagonist roaming around the beautiful in-game world and dancing with wildlife. The game will be coming to PS5 and is set to start beta testing on PS5 in Q3 2024.

6Ballad Of Antara

TipsWorks Studio announced the free-to-play fantasy RPG titleBallad of Antara. This is a new IP and the gameplay trailer showed a man wielding a large sword accompanied by a woman with a bow, with a child on the samurai’s back. The game is scheduled for a 2025 release with multiplayer support of up to 3 players.

5A Wuxia Open-World Game

Where Winds Meetis a Wuxia open-world action-adventure RPGset in ancient China and is coming to PS5 this year after being over 5 years in development. The game’s trailer has attracted many eyes and players are excited to check out the title.

Players will play as a swordsman, playing an important role in influencing the events and their results. The game seems to have several choices and possibilities.

4Brand-New Dynasty Warriors Title

Koei Tecmo announcedDynasty Warriors Origins, the next game in the Omega Force’s hack-and-slash video game seriesDynasty Warriors. The game will feature the conflict of Three Kingdoms in hack-and-slash warfare for the first time and will be released sometime in 2025.

3Marvel Rivals Is Coming to PS5

The superhero team-based PvP shooter featuring characters from Marvel Comics was also featured in the presentation. The game has been confirmed to arrive on PS5 alongside PC and Mac. However, it does not have a release date yet but the closed beta test will be held in July 2024.

2Monster Hunter Wilds Launches in 2025

Capcom shared a brand-new trailer forWilds, the upcoming title in theMonster Hunterfranchise. The gameplay looks amazing and the in-game environment is spectacular. Several characters and monsters were introduced and it also received the launch date of 2025.

1Astro Bot Has A New Game

Team Asobi, the developer behindAstro’s Playroomunveiled a new game calledAstro Bot. The game is set to release on September 6, exclusively for PS5. The game will see players explore more than 80 unique levels across six galaxies.

The gameplay trailer included beautiful beaches, forests, and volcanoes. The game looks amazing and fans are buzzing for the launch.

Path of Exile sequel will launch in early access.
