Former Atlus artist Kazumi Kaneko’sdesigns are closely associatedwith the Persona and Shin Megami Tensei franchises, much like Yoshitaka Amano is withFinal Fantasy. In a recent interview withAnimate Times(shared byAutomaton Times), he revealed a funny coincidence involving an artist who inspired him.

Persona & Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Share A Trish
It’s no secret that Kaneko’s work is heavily inspired by that of Hirohiko Araki, the creator of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, with both influenced by the world of fashion. Kaneko and Araki were so inspired by a specific model that they created a character based on her.
The original Persona and the sequel duologyboth feature a characternamed Trish, an adorable pixie whom the party can encounter. Meanwhile, in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 5, one of the protagonists was Trish Una, a Stand-user with a waifish design.

It turns out that both Trishes were inspired by real-life model Trish Goff, with both Araki and Kaneko turning her into characters in their respective series. They didn’t realize the connection until years later when they discussed Trish Goff in person.
“I once had a talk with Araki-san, and we both got excited over how beautiful Trish Goff is. It turned out we’d used the same person as inspiration for our characters”

The Persona and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure franchises arewell-known for their stylishness, so it’s no surprise that specific models and clothing brands are referenced in them. It’s more surprising that one model left such an impact that two artists went out of their way to include it so heavily in their works.
