Season 6 ofStar Trek: The Next Generationwas quite intense for the audience. Especially episodes 10 and 11, which featured a torture scene when Captain Picard was captured by Gul Madred were quite gruesome for the people.

Talking about the gruesome torture scenes from the series, Patric Stewart revealed that he went down a deep-dark rabbit hole to research the topic. As per the bookStar Trek: The Next Generation 365by Paula M. Block and Terry J. Erdmann, Stewart worked directly with Amnesty International in hopes of perfecting the torture scene. Stewart also watched tapes of torture survivors and a torturer who talked about his experience in giving pain to the people.
Wanting to depict the torture scene with the utmost accuracy, SirPatrick Stewarteven agreed to actually strip naked for the torture scene. Instead of a modesty sock or any means of clothing, the veteran actor was actually naked. When asked the reason for this movie, the actor revealed that he wanted to fully honor the people who had been through a similar experience before.
