Path of Exile 2: Trial of the Sekhemas Guide

If you’re unsure how to get through the Trial of the Sekhemas, this Path of Exile II guide is essential.

Of course, with enough practice, and a bit of research, anyone can face the Trials and emerge victorious.

Path of Exile II Inscribed Ultimatum

A New Format

You can access the challenge by picking up theChimeral Inscribed Ultimatumthat drops fromXyclucian the Chimerain theChimeral Wetlands. Once this is obtained, you can slot it into the Trial Pillar, similar to the Baryas from Act 2.

This new trial will see you go through 4 rooms: 3 trial encounters and one boss fight. Along the way,you will be forced to lock in a Tribulationbefore each encounter.

Path of Exile II Tribulations

These tribulations will provide a new debuff to your character or area hazard to hinder your progress throughout the rest of the run. Luckily, you won’t have to worry about taking damage here, as the Honour Meter from the previous trial is gone.

While the area level here is 38, it is very muchrecommended that you level up a little morebefore you attempt this challenge.Even at higher levels, the bosses can seriously catch you off guard.

Path of Exile II Area 1 Dinosaur

Collect some of the permanent buffs found in different areas before this trial. You can get two books of specialization, one from the Mighty Silverfish and one from Sacrificing a Heart later on. Also, consider killing Ignagduk for 30 extra Spirit!

Tribulations

As mentioned previously, tribulations are one of the things that make this trial so difficult. While you are being swarmed by enemies, you will also have to contend with annoying debuffs like extra chaos damage, or pillars that shoot balls of flame across the screen.

You will always get a choice of 3 before starting each encounter, so here we will suggest a few good ones to look out for, and which to avoid.Remember, these effects will continue into the boss fight, so beware.

Path of Exile II Corruption Dais

If you are just before the boss, consider taking Lethal Rare Monsters. Rare mobs can’t spawn during the boss fight, so this one is a free pick-up!

Awful Tribulations

These are just a few examples of good and bad choices, but often these can be verydependent on what your play style is.

Personally, I don’t like environmental hazards and prefer just taking the invisible debuffs. Some of the tribulations can cause havoc on the screen, so not having to worry about them means I can focus on mobs and getting my spacing right.

The First Trial

This encounter is always fixed, unlike the map from the Trial of the Sekhemas. There isn’t a whole lot to this room. Monsters will spawn, and you need to run around the map taking them out.

It’s best to clear out the area bit by bit.If you run around spawning everything, you’ll likely be hemmed in and taken out.

Be aware that there willalways be at least one rare monster here, so come prepared with good gear and a battle strategy.

Once you’ve eliminated all the mobs, a platform will descend, and you can proceed with the Trial.

The Second Trial

Similar to the first, this room is also fixed. You may remember the Hourglass room from the Trial of the Sekhemas. This is basically the same thing, apart from the fact that you need to survive for 90 seconds instead of 60.

Path of Exile 2: How to Farm Uniques

Uniques are what every player strives to receive as a drop in Path of Exile 2, but is there a way to farm them?

Once again, one of the best and most consistent strategies is simply to camp in a far corner of the area and only take on the mobs that spawn next to you.

Usually, only 3-4 creatures will spawn every 15 seconds or so, making this a very easy challenge.

Be careful not to fling any long-range projectiles across the map, as this will aggro the monsters that have spawned off-screen.

Another strategy is just to run around the map.If you have a good pair of boots with a movement speed modifier, you should be able to train the mobs around without taking much damage.

The Third Trial

The Floating Pillar

In this area, you will have to escort a pillar through a series of valleys, while monsters descend to take you on.You must stand under or near the pillar for it to move. Don’t worry, it can’t crush you.

The main thing for this trial is simply to move slowly and don’t aggro too many mobs at once. If you need to, just let the pillar fall to the ground while you take out the minions.

There isn’t any time limit here,so you might as well play with caution and strategy instead of running blindly through it all. Having to repeat the previous 2 rooms because you were rushing is a pretty frustrating experience.

Again, there will almost always be a rare monster here somewhere. Look out for something abnormally large, or crackling with a special elemental effect.

The Soul Cores

This is an odd one. I’ve completed the trials a good 4–5 times, and I’ve only seen this trial once, on my very first attempt. Naturally, I got steamrolled.

In this challenge, you will have to collect Soul Cores and then take them back to an altar while getting attacked by monsters. It’s pretty important to be fast with this one, as while you’re carrying the core, you will slowly take damage.

Try either clearing out the entire area first or just running as fast as possible while dodging enemy attacks. You may have to ride the original elevator to find new areas. I was a little stumped here.

The Final Trio

At this point, you will have cleared the previous three rooms and gathered a total of three tribulations. But it doesn’t end here. You must choose one more disadvantage and face the final boss of the area.

Similarly to the Trial of the Sekhemas, what makes these bosses particularly annoying isn’t the mechanics, but the fact that you have to trek through the entire dungeon just to try facing them again.

In addition, you will have a random chance of facing three different bosses instead of just Rattlecage.

Each of these bosses has different mechanics, which makes facing them difficult,as you only have a 33% chance of getting the same fight again.

Naturally, you won’t be prepared when facing these bosses. So read up, and study well, because some of these attacks will send you straight back to the start before you can even blink.

Uxmal, The Beastlord

Keep your fingers crossed for this one, folks. This is by far the easiest fight, first and foremost, because you’ve already beaten him before.

Confused? Well, don’t be, because this boss is essentially a re-skin of the Chimera fight from the Wetlands. Of course, you won’t have the destructible pillars, but apart from that, the fight is pretty much the same.

The one thing you’re going to want to be aware of is the levels of the arena.Uxmal will use different attacks based on the locations where you’re fighting him. In addition, he spends a lot of time flying around. Have fun running around looking for him!

Here are some of the moves you’ll want to look out for.

Attack Name

Description

Platform Level

Fire Breath

Uxmal will fly in the air and breathe fire onto the ground. Don’t bother rolling, as you may easily outrun this one.

Frozen Ground

Uxmal will breathe frost onto the ground, freezing the area around him and forcing you to tank damage and a slow. It is easier just to move away from him and wait until the cold disappears.

Medium Level

Lightning Orbs

Uxmal will send 3 orbs of lightning out onto the field and then call down bolts of lightning in a fairly large AoE. Like much of this fight, try and stay behind him as much as possible to avoid these attacks.

Bottom Level

Ground Pound

When Uxmal lands from his flight, he will stomp the ground all around him. Roll away from him before he has the chance.

Chetza, the Feathered Plague

This boss will ramp up the difficulty a fair bit. While this boss doesn’t have a huge number of mechanics, these can chain together, causing you to have a pretty rough time.

Similar to the previous boss, try to stick to the sides or the back of the enemyand be sure not to get too greedy.

Spiral Spike

A swirl of spikes will burst up from the ground, causing those who get hit to be maimed. You will take a fair chunk of damage and be slowed for the duration of the effect. Try and predict this attack and roll into the gaps between the swirl.

Corpse Rain

This can be particularly deadly if you have been slowed by the previous attack. Chetza will call down bloody corpses and bodies from the sky on top of you. Similarly to Uxmal’s Firebreath, don’t roll from this one, just run and focus on surviving. You don’t want to attack here as you’ll probably be trapped by the blood rain.

Plagueling

Every once in a while, Chetza will unleash a little bird-hound thing that will chase you around the map. While this monster doesn’t have any unique mechanics apart from a frontal bite, you’re going to want to take him out as soon as possible. You don’t want to be dodging him as well as the blood rain. Even if you kill Chetza, you will still have to kill the Plagueling at the end.

attempt to kill the Plagueling fast. If you don’t he will jump back inside Chetza and regain his health.

Bahlak, The Sky Seer

You may have seen this one wiping out people in YouTube clips.

This, in my opinion,is by far the most difficult of the three bosses, especially if you’re playing a melee character. Keep your fingers crossed that you don’t get this one.

Of course, if you’re attempting this challenge at area level 75+, you’re going to have to learn anyway.

Bahlak spends a lot of time flying aroundand has some particularly deadly attacks that have very short wind-ups.

As soon as you see Bahlak spring up into the area, dodge and roll away immediately, as he will rocket back towards the ground where you were standing, causing a large AoE slam.

Lightning Rush

Bahlak can either spit out orbs of lightning or cause streaks of lighting to race across the ground.

Bat Tunnels

The screen will turn dark and Bahlak will summon a stream of bats in a line across the arena. This is easy to avoid, but makes the area even more cramped than before.

Feather Spray

After kicking with his talons, Bahlak will spray out an arc of sharp feathers. Stay behind him to avoid this attack.

The Run Killer

This is by far Bahlak’s most dangerous and most frustrating attack to avoid. It has a ridiculously short wind-up and deals outrageously high damage. After a little spin, Bahlak will transform into a huge hurricane, covering most of the arena. Just run and don’t stop. Movement speed buffs on boots work wonders here. If he summons more mini-tornados, the screen can become chaotic very quickly.

A Vaal Victory

Once you’ve felled the boss and caught your breath, you’re able to proceed to claim your rewards and, of course, your next two ascendancy points.

You will gain three rare quality items, though these will be corrupted, meaning that they can’t be modified further.

Path of Exile 2: How To Unlock Ascension Classes

Ascending is a major milestone for your character in Path of Exile 2, so here’s how to finally unlock your Ascension.

But the main rewards here are the points. You should have four ascendancy points by this point, meaning you can complete one of the branches of your ascension tree

and skyrocket your power. Now, you are ready to face Doryani, the final boss of Act 3.
