You can find all the passive abilities and skills you want, but if you don’t have the right gear to complement those choices, your build won’t feel the same. The best gear you can design a build around in Path of Exile 2 are known as “Uniques.”
This is the highest form of rarity for a piece of gear in Path of Exile 2. When a Unique drops, it has dark orange text and comes with a special description and plenty of incredible affixes and stats.
Naturally, Uniques are extremely difficult to come by in Path of Exile 2, given how strong they are.

How to Get More Uniques in Path of Exile 2
For starters, regardless of how much you grind or the methods you use, Unique dropswill always be random in Path of Exile 2.
This means you could spend dozens of hours with a certain build and not get a single Unique drop. Of course, you could also spend no time at all with a build and get two by defeating random bosses.
Fortunately, there are different ways to boost your odds of receiving a Unique drop. you may see what those methods are and how to take advantage of them in Path of Exile 2 below.
Path of Exile 2: Best Beginner Class To Choose
This is an important decision before you even begin.
Gamble with the Random Gear Vendor
From the very start of Act 1 in Path of Exile 2, you have access to a specific kind of vendor at the Clearfell Encampment. This vendor allows you tobuy a random piece of gear, from weapons to every type of armor, for a flat price.
While this might seem like any other vendor, the gear you’re purchasing is completely random. You could wind up with a common item you’ll salvage or sell immediately or a brand new Unique.
Of course, getting a Unique from this vendor is incredibly rare, as you’re lucky to walk away with a magic item at the most. Still, if you have gold to spare, and you’re willing to gamble some of it away, this can be an effective way to earn some Uniques in Path of Exile 2.
You can also target certain kinds of gear you want a Unique drop for this way. For example, if you want a Unique chest plate, then you can directly purchase a random chest plate from the vendor.
This eliminates some of the chances of receiving a completely random unique drop.
It’s not recommended to make this your only source of Uniques, however. There are other alternatives that are much more cost-effective and likely to yield a Unique.
Farm Easy Bosses
As you might expect, the best way to target Unique drops in Path of Exile 2 is by killing bosses over and over again.
Any boss you come across in a region can be replayed once you exit the map. If you beat the boss again, you’ll earn an entirely different set of drops.
Bosses, especially story bosses, will always have the highest chance to drop Unique items. However, side bosses are often the better way to farm drops since they can be beaten quicker.
Side bosses aren’t too far out of the way in most regions and usually don’t present as much of a challenge as certain story bosses, such asCount Geonor.

For story bosses, you’ll have to remember their location in a given area and Act. Alternatively, you’re able to track side bosses by looking on your map for a boss icon.
If the icon isn’t grayed out, then you’re still missing a boss from that area. The bosses you’ve already beaten can be challenged again after leaving a region and coming back.
If you’re looking for the easiest farming method possible, you want to continually repeat a boss fight significantly below your level.
A lower-level boss can be beaten faster and earn more drops over time. Also, going to a lower-level area altogether makes it so you’re not constantly bombarded by tough enemies after you reset the area.
Some of the best bosses to farm for Uniques in Path of Exile 2 are the three that you may fight in theCemetery of the Eternals.
You have access toLachlann of Endless Lamentright near the waypoint, as well as the Mausoleum of the Praetor and Tomb of the Consort dungeons. Both of the dungeons have bosses that are relatively easy to fight.
For the most part, bosses in Act 1 are the easiest to farm in terms of difficulty, but you’ll have higher odds of landing a Unique from bosses in the later Acts.
It’s also beneficial to find bosses that you can easily beat with a certain build. If you find a particular boss that’s weak to ice attacks and your build centers around that damage type, they might be a good boss to farm for Uniques.
Use Orbs of Chance
The next method we have for getting Uniques faster is usingOrbs of Chanceon regular gear. An Orb of Chance is a supremely rare item that allows you to transform a piece of Normal gear to Unique rarity.
Although, the catch is that the orb doesn’t have a 100% chance to transform the gear. If the orb fails, your item is destroyed.
However, if the Orb of Chance succeeds in upgrading your gear to Unique rarity, then your item will come with new affixes and stats. The chance for the orb to succeed is quite low, unfortunately, so you’ll be lucky to see one item changed to Unique rarity.
Orbs of Chance can be acquired by finding 10 Chance Shards and combining them to make an orb. Chance Shards are particularly rare, especially during a playthrough on normal difficulty, but they become more common in Cruel difficulty and during the endgame.
Still, the chances of you getting an Orb of Chance and it succeeding in turning an item Unique is exceedingly unlikely. This is a more cost-effective form of gambling than going to the random gear vendor, but you’re also losing an item and Chance Shards in the process.
Trade with Other Players
The final way you’re able to try to obtain Unique items is by trading with other players on your server in Path of Exile 2. While this certainly doesn’t always work out, the community in Path of Exile 2 is more willing to trade than you might think.
For example, if a player receives a Unique drop they can’t use for their build, they’ll often want to offload it to another player. If another player wants to trade their Unique, they’ll usually type in the chat and say “looking to trade [x] item.”
Of course, the trading system is a two-way street in Path of Exile 2. The other player will often want something in return for trading you their Unique.
In that case, you’ll need to find something of close to equal value or an item that the other player accepts. This can be discussed beforehand by messaging the other player directly.
you may also take matters into your own hands instead of simply waiting for another player to say they want to trade their Unique. You can type in the chat yourself and ask if any player wants to trade a specific piece of Unique gear. If you’re looking for a Unique ring or amulet, ask for that specifically.
Trading won’t always yield good results, but you can bounce around to different servers and see if any players are looking to trade a Unique. If not, then wait some time and try the other methods before looking to trade again.
