Ever since the Elbaph arc started inOne Piecemanga, the one Straw Hat Pirate who has entered the limelight is Usopp, the sniper of the crew. For many years fans have been waiting for Eiichiro Oda to reveal Usopp’s connection with Elbaph and now that the arc has finally started, it will soon explain what his role is in the Elbaph storyline.
While the arc has just started, fans have already tried to guess Usopp’s role in Elbaph and how his character will grow in the series. Some believe that Usopp will get a power-up that will bring him close to the level of the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates, while others believe that he will earn the title of “Brave Warrior of the Sea” that he has been craving since the beginning of the journey.
Although nothing has been confirmed as of yet, Oda might have already dropped hints about Usopp’s role in Elbaph long ago. According to the latestOne Piecechapter, Usopp’s significance in Elbaph was already revealed when the Straw Hat Pirates met Hajrudin during the Dressrosa arc and he declared Usopp to be a god.
Usopp’s Status As A God inOne Piece
When the Dressrosa arc started, fans and the Straw Hat Pirates learned about the dark secret of the toys that roamed around and were used as a labor force. They were able to do it because one of the officers of the Donquixote Pirates Sugar ate the Hobi Hobi no Mi which allowed her to turn anyone she touched into a toy. And the responsibility of liberating everyone fell on the shoulders of Usopp.

While Usopp initially failed badly, his luck helped him scare Sugar to the point that she fainted releasing the ability and ultimately the people who were turned into toys. Every one of them was finally happy to transform back into their original form as they had been trapped for over ten years.
Thus, in a weird way, Usopp earned the appreciation of everyone he liberated. He was picked up by Hajrudin and as he was held at the top of everyone, a ray of light shined on him. This led to the people believing that he was actually a God who was sent to save them, thusearning him the status of GodinOne Piece.
Usopp’s Role in Elbaph Was Hinted During Dressrosa Arc
Although Usopp’s status as a God was initially introduced as a comedic feature to the Dressrosa narrative inOne Piece, there is a chance thatEiichiro Odamight expand on that in Elbaph.One Piecechapter 1130 revealed that Hajrudin who is one of the captains of Straw Hat Grand Fleet is also the son of King Harald and Loki’s elder brother.
Not only that, he is an avid follower of God Usopp as he was among the characters who were saved by Usopp. Therefore, there is a big possibility that he talked about Usopp and his status as a God in Elbaph and spread the word of his “miracles” in theOne Pieceworld. This could already make Usopp a legend in Elbaph and would certify his role as a God.

Thus, even if he doesn’t get a power-up in terms of Haki or other abilities, his role as God might certainly get more structure. This could expand his status as a warrior of the sea in the most “Usopp” way possible. He would then at least earn the recognition that will beas same as the rest of the Straw Hat PiratesinOne Piece.
