The final saga ofOne Pieceis ongoing at full throttle, with every new development boosting the excitement of fans. Beyond the excitement, there’s also a fear of what might happen next. Many characters close to the Straw Hats are at a greater risk than ever, as we have seen with Garp and Bartolomeo.

The mere thought of seeing Luffy lose someone again is scarring. However, after what happened with Ace, Luffy resolved to get stronger to ensure that nothing like that ever happens again. To get to that point, not just him, but the whole crew will need to become stronger. Admittedly, even that might not be enough when we look at Blackbeard’s crew, which  consists of ruthless monsters.

At the beginning of the story, Luffy expressed the desire to have ten crewmates. If that is indeed Eiichiro Oda’s intention, then the Straw Hats might welcome another Nakama in the near future. And we have a guess at who it might be!

A still from Luffy vs. Kizaru during Egghead

Kizaru Could Be a Great Addition to the Straw Hat Pirates

The Egghead Arc ofOne Piecereconnected us to many events and characters from the Sabaody Archipelago. As soon as Kizaru arrived on Egghead, he became a topic of discussion among fans. They were curious to see how far Luffy had come since Sabaody, and Kizaru was the perfect character to demonstrate that growth. The reason why he was the best choice for that role washis history with the Straw Hats.

Before Egghead, Kizaru was a loyal member of the World Government and an Admiral who was reliable in times of need. He hardly ever questioned the orders from his superior. Vegapunk’s death caused a shift in his character as we saw him defying Akainu. It was the first time the selfishness of the World Government cost him a personal loss. Similar to how Aokiji left the Marines, fans expected Kizaru to be the next.

One Piece: Kizaru is a Double Agent? Eiichiro Oda Reveals the Biggest Egghead Mystery That Puts Akainu in the Spot

Defying the highest authority in the world will leave Kizaru with very few options inOne Piece. He will need to associate with someone significantly stronger or he’ll become a target of the World Government. The only forces who are capable of challenging the government at this point are the Yonko and the Revolutionary Army.

We have never seen his interactionswith the Revolutionary Armyor the Blackbeard Crew. He had brief interactions and face-offs with Shanks’ Crew, but he has been the closest to the Straw Hats in this respect, so he might choose to associate with them. If Kizaru joins the Straw Hats, they will grow significantly stronger as Pica Pica no Mi is truly overpowered.

Kizaru gets mad at Akainu’s interrogation

Kizaru’s Pica Pica no Mi Could Exponentially Strengthen the Straw Hats

The Pica Pica no Mi allows Kizaru to move at the speed of light. He can use it to attack his opponents before they even have the time to realize what happened. He can use his abilities to defend himself as well by transforming into minute particles of light when an attack is aimed at him. Haki is the only thing he needs to be careful of, but other than that, Kizaru is arguably even stronger than Zoro.

Having him on the crew will make the Straw Hats grow much stronger than they are at present. We don’t know if Kizaru will join the Straw Hats for sure, but it’s safe to assume that he’s no longer a loyal or blindly devoted member of the Navy. It’ll be interesting to see how he branches out in the future.
