In a recentinterview with Theo Von, ‘The Diamond’ Dustin Poirier was asked if he would consider entering the world of acting like his rival Conor McGregor. Poirier, however, has always identified himself as a fighter’s fighter, prioritizing his pursuit of the UFC lightweight championship above all else.
Despite his dedication to the sport, Poirier has also shown willingness to give opportunities to younger prospects, as demonstrated by his recent victory over Benoît Saint Denis.

Poirier’s response to the question about potentially pursuing acting, akin to McGregor, might come as a surprise to some. He expressed openness to the idea, highlighting the appeal of trying something new and challenging.
“I’d like to, you know? It’s something different. It’s exciting because I’ve never done it before, it’s a new challenge, keeps me busy. I got to be busy, man. That’s my thing. I got to be busy if I’m not getting ready to fight somebody, and I’ve said this a thousand times. I have to have some kind of obstacle in front of me. So, if I’m trying to do movies or grow my businesses, I just need to be in action.”

Poirier emphasized his need to stay occupied and driven, whether it’s preparing for fights or taking on other endeavors like acting, or growing his businesses.

Reflecting on his involvement in the film during an interview withExtra TV,Conor McGregorrevealed that his role was initially meant to be brief, similar to Post Malone’s cameo. However, as filming progressed, McGregor’s part expanded, with additional scenes being incorporated.

“Originally I was kind of, I was to come in, it was like kind of like the similar setup to Post Malone. I was like, you know? Would have been in and out and a short bit and then they kind of kept adding more and more and then obviously without spoiling it, as you know, potentially is an opportunity, maybe for something down the line, I don’t know.”
McGregor is also looking to compete in at least two fights in the UFC,

“Hopefully I get a fight date booked,
“I’m looking to compete but by you know, a couple of times by the end of the year. I’d love two fights in by this by the end of the year.”

We will have to wait and see whether the legendary Irish UFC fighter will somehow to get fight again this year, as it has been almost three years since he last stepped foot inside the Octagon, and that’s a cause of concern for many.
