While Sheridan is currently one of the best in the business when it comes to penning westerns, theSicariowriter has been accused of being lazy in certain instances.
Moreover, one annoying trope from the show seemingly links back to Kevin Costner’s claims regarding the showrunner, which apparently led to the actor’s departure from the show, pushing the Western epic to close its gates.

Ahead of the final two episodes inYellowstoneseason 5, which will conclude the TV giant’s dominance on the small screen, some fans pointed out one annoying trope that persisted in many of the storylines. In season 4, when Jamie proceeds to enter his office, he is warned by his assistant, who shares someone is waiting for him, who turns out to be his antagonistic sister, Beth. Speaking of this scene, one user added,“No way she doesn’t recognize Beth at this point”.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first instance of Jamie’s assistant refusing to elaborate on the potential threat waiting in his office, and one user joked that the writer might keep forgetting about this trope.
Although it’s pretty apparent that the Reddit user meant it as a joke, if this is indeed the truth, it won’t be surprising given how much Sheridan has on his plate currently, which traces back to one of Costner’s statements.

This also adds weight toKevin Costner‘s claims about theYellowstonedelays, as the Emmy winner alleged (viaDeadline)“This poor guy was also having to write too much”, which apparently contributed to the delays in shooting.
I made Yellowstone the first priority, and to insinuate anything else would be wrong….They were doing a tap dance and this poor guy was also having to write so much. And I don’t know why they didn’t stick up for me.
Considering that the second half of the show hasn’t been everyone’s cup of tea, especially Costner, who shared minuscule interest afterhearing about John Dutton’s fate, the Western didn’t exactly live up to its full potential.
