You will just need to make sure to update the system the next time you are on it if you do not have automatic updates turned on.

Nintendo Switch System Update 13.1.0 Patch Notes

Compared to the last update for Nintendo Switch, update 13.1.0 is a lot simpler with the patch notes.

This is a major update people have been waiting for though, as it adds in support for one of the features announced during last month’s Nintendo Direct.

These are the patch notes for Nintendo Switch update 13.1.0, which have been provided by theNintendo Support websiteas always.

As you can see, there isn’t too much to this update other than the support for the new Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass and some system stability. The latter is something that is almost always a part of the various system updates, so that is no surprise at all to see here.

What Is In the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass?

The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass was first revealed during the September Nintendo Direct and is a new service on top of the existing Nintendo Switch Online.

The Expansion Pass with the existing Nintendo Switch Online will cost $49.99 a year, or $30 from the existing $19.99 a year price of the base Nintendo Switch Online.

This includes the addition of a lineup of Nintendo 64 games, Sega Genesis games, and even the upcoming Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise DLC.

There have certainly been some complaints about the price increase for this, but considering it includes the Happy Home Paradise DLC that costs $24.99 on its own. What remains to be seen is whether or not future Nintendo releases with DLC will be included in this Expansion Pass or if that was a one-off.
