Deikrag does not mess around inNinja Gaiden: Ragebound. He’s certainly one of the hardest bosses in the game, and chances are high that you’ll be dying to him over and over again.

To be fair, this type of difficulty is on par with theNinja Gaidenfranchise, so it’s time to buckle down and get to it.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound: How To Beat Gurthka (Both Fights)

Gurthka is the first boss you’ll encounter in Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, and he’s no nice, you’ll face him twice.

Our guide onhow to defeat Deikrag in Ninja Gaiden: Rageboundwill go over the abilities we used, Deikrag’s mechanics, and the best strategy to defeat him.

Deikrag Abilities Used

Abilities Equipped

There is a lot of customization you can do inNinja Gaiden: Rageboundwith Talismans and Secret Arts to help make you a more powerful ninja.

Those are all helpful when playing through the stages, but I’m not a fan of most of them when it comes toboss battles. I don’t want to waste my resources on a Secret Art that doesn’t do anything.

Deikrag Abilities

With that in mind, here is what I had equipped when fighting Deikrag.

Talismans/Secret Arts

Blood Frenzy - Talisman

Bearer recovers health each time an enemy is defeated during a kill streak greater than 3.

Last Stance - Talisman

Melee damage increases 75% when health is low.

Kama - Secret Art

A curved blade weapon that slices through foes with a swift arching motion, cutting through multiple enemies in its path.

Kunai barrage - Ragebound

Throws a barrage of charged kunai which explode when hitting an enemy.

Deikrag Attack Breakdown

Deikrag may not have a lot of abilities, but don’t let that fool you.

He’s more than capable of punishing you and comboing you down a large chunk of your health in the blink of an eye. Before going over the best way to defeat him, let’s run down his abilities.

Deikrag Strategy

Attack Description

Deikrag will do a melee attack and then fling three rocks which turn into spikes. One of them is hypercharged.

Attack the appropriate spike and use your hypercharged attack to stun him. They die in 3 hits.

After throwing the rocks, he will jump toward you. If he comes into contact with the rocks, he will break them.

Avoid being hit.

At 75%, he will charge. Rocks will then fall from the ceiling.

You can jump and parry this. Avoid the rocks.

At 50% and 25%, he flies into the air, summons four debris rocks, then lands.

If you want, you can kill one of the debris rocks for a hypercharge, but it’s risky. Best to avoid everything.

Deikrag Strategy

The biggest thing you need to remember about the Deikrag encounter is, again, he is by far the hardest boss you’ve encountered thus far.

He has a very long attack range and moves very quickly, so get ready to dodge. One thing you may do is bait his animations to force him to throw rocks in one direction before he jumps.

This means you can take your time and break the hypercharged rock to deal damage and stun Deikrag.

Sometimes, it’s better not to bother breaking the hypercharged rock, as you run the risk of taking too much damage.

If you’re struggling to dodge his attacks, you may jump on top of him andcontinually parryhim to avoid most of his attacks.

You won’t be able to avoid every attack, but it’s a super-effective way to avoid taking damage while also baiting his attacks.

You can parry on one side of the boss to have him throw rocks to the right, for example, before baiting his leap to move to the left. This gives you plenty of time to gain the hypercharged attack and stun him.

Keep doing that, and, eventually, Deikrag will die, and the victory will be yours.
