As far as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man series is concerned, Tom Holland remains well-placed to continue slinging webs in the franchise for the foreseeable future. It’s already been confirmed the Englishman will reprise his role and swing back onto the big screen withSpider-Man 4– albeit plot details and release date remain in the dark for now.

At the same time, in the multiverse madness of the MCU, there are always endless possibilities, asSpider-Man: No Way Homeproved by bringing three Peter Parkers together. Now, fans can’t help but picture Grant Gustin as another iteration of the iconic character.

Grant Gustinled The CW’s popular television series,The Flash, for nearly a decade. He portrayed forensic investigator Barry Allen, who gains the power of superhuman speed from a freak accident, for nine seasons, making the series the longest-running show in the Arrowverse.
The series based on the DC Comics of the same nameconcluded in May of 2023, with Barry sharing his powers with three new speedsters. The big reason behindThe Flash’slong run and popularity was Gustin’s depiction of the character, which many fans believe is most closely aligned with the comics version.

WithThe Flashnow behind him, fans are hoping to see Gustin take on another superhero challenge. Instagram userAndrew Gustinshared an artwork where thePuppy Lovestarsuits up as Spider-Man.

Marvel and Sony Are Rumored to Be In Disagreement OverSpider-Man 4
As much as the idea of Gustin portraying Spider-Man is interesting, it’s unlikely to be entertained by Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios anytime soon.
For now, the two studios are reportedly at loggerheads over whether to bring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield back into the fold to replicate the success ofSpider-Man: No Way Homeor not.

As per Daniel Richtman (viaMovieWeb), Sony wants to use the same ingredients that made the 2021 action thriller their highest-grossing movie of all time. This means they want another multiverse drama involving Maguire and Garfield.

However, Kevin Feige wants to bringTom Holland‘s movie back to “ground level” and keep him in his own universe. This may lead to Spidey crossing paths with characters that the MCU is developing outside the multiverse storyline.
