Do you want a newSplinter Cellgame? I know I do, and while Ubisoft has announced a remake is in development, that was three years ago, with no updates on what’s actually happening to the game.
Well, a new Splinter Cell project is on the way, but it’s not what you’re expecting.

While Ubisoft teased a Splinter Cell announcement a few months ago, it appears that it’s not a new game, but rather the franchise is heading down the anime route, thanks to Netflix.
New Splinter Cell Anime Proves Ubisoft Hasn’t Forgotten About The Franchise
According toUbisoft, Splinter Cell: Deadwatch is by the writer of the John Wick franchise, and our first look at it will premiere later this week.
It’s set to be a series, with no release date announced at this time. While this is great and all, where’s the Splinter Cell Remake, Ubisoft? With a company in turmoil, you’d think they’d hasten to work on properties the gaming populace would look forward to, but nope.

Not discounting the anime, since it could get the same level of love as Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which is a good thing. Additionally, this might kickstart sales of classic Splinter Cell games, which, in turn, could prompt Ubisoft to push for the remake a little bit harder.
The Splinter Cell franchise started in 2002 and follows covert operator Sam Fisher. Since its release, it has spawned countless sequels and was Ubisoft’s answer to Konami’s Solid Snake from the Metal Gear franchise.

The latest mainline release was Splinter Cell: Blacklist, which was released in 2013, and combined gameplay from Chaos Theory and Conviction.
It received positive marks across the board, with our review giving it a 9/10, calling it “one of the best in the series and the creativity never stopped. This game was bullets of fun. Yes, there are some elements repeated from the previous games in the series that are noticeable but in this day in age, this is to be expected.”

With Snake getting Metal Gear Solid Delta later this month, it’s high time Ubisoft gave us a new Sam Fisher game, don’t you think?
