The popular character will join the roster on June 4th, and fans are hyped after seeing the character in action with the recent gameplay trailer. Fans have spotted that the Homelander inMortal Kombat 1has a reference to the most shocking moment in Season 3 of the Amazon Prime Video series.

Thegameplay trailer for Homelanderwas shared a few days ago, where he is seen taking on other popular fighters with his Kameo partner Ferra and unleashing his fatalities. The trailer shows the leader of The Seven in mid-air, throwing kicks and punches and blasting the opponents with his laser.

The character also has several moves from the big moments inThe Boysfor his finishing moves, just like any other character that comes to the game. One fan has spotted that there is also a reference to one important moment from Season 3 ofThe Boys.

In Season 3, Episode 8, he uses laser vision to melt a protestor’s head, and the trailer shows him doing the same to his opponent. This was a shocking moment in the series and marked a turning point for the character, giving rise to a slew of memes across social media sites.

There is another fatality that involves an airplane and ends with him throwing off his opponent with one of the plane’s engines. There is one such scene in Season 1, but this is different from what happened in the show but is still a reference.
There Are Several Other References to the Iconic Moments
Fans are excited to see the characters in the game, and the fatalities have got them even more buzzing. The other references from the show include Homelander’s first appearance in the show, where he throws a bank robber in the air, killing him on the impact.

In the trailer, he is seen giving the same treatment to Liu Kang. The other reference is the“Sticks and stones won’t break my bones, but words…”scene, but instead of Starlight, it is Kitana on the other end.

Some other references are Blindspot’s ear-clapping scene, which he does to Kitana, and the Neck Snap scene, where he breaks the neck of Doppelganger. There are also two references in one scene where Homelander hovers in the crowd and then lands on the ground, breaking it.
