Capcom held on March 15 theMonster Hunter Rise Sunbreakdigital event, most notably revealing a release date trailer and new monsters like the Astalos, hyping up fans hoping for a return of the Fated Four fromGenerations.

TheMonster Hunte Rise Sunbreakexpansion wil add new characters, a new town hub, several monsters and a new map. Moreover, it’ll launch simultaneously on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, so players who prefer portability and those who focus on performance will both be able to try out the new content right away. And the addition of the Astalos is teasing two more monsters to come.

Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreakwill add the Astalos as a new monster. The Astalos originally appeared inMonster Hunter Generationsand is part of the Fated Four.

The Fated Four monsters in Monster Hunter explained

The Fated Four are the four flagship monsters ofMonster Hunter Generationson Nintendo 3DS: The Gammoth, the Astalos, the Mizutsune, and the Glavenus.Monster Hunter Generationsis initially titledMonster Hunter Crossin Japanese, and the game’s cross symbol with its 4 paths symbolizes perfectly the fact that there are four flagship monsters.

The Mizutsune is already inMonster Hunter Riseseeing it fits perfectly with the game’s Japanese folkoric and Youkai themes. And now theSunbreakextension is adding the Astalos. Hence why it’s highly likely the Glavenus and the Gammoth will be added as well.

Furtheremore, it’s even possible the Fated Four is actually reunited inSunbreakbut weren’t revealed in the trailer and gameplay seen so far. Capcom usually doesn’t reveal all the new monsters appearing in an extension before release.
