There are a handful of different resources you’re able to gather inMinecraft Legends, but the most coveted of all is Gold. to craft some of the best upgrades in the game, you’ll need to make sure your gold reserves never run empty.

While most of the other resources can be found by exploring the various biomes in the game, finding gold is much trickier. We’ll show you how to get your hands on some gold fast, so you can focus on crafting improvements.

Resource Chests

While maybe not the most reliable method, you can find gold inside the many chests scattered through the world. Each chest you find will have a random resource in it, so you can’t expect gold each time. But when you do find gold in these chests, they typically have around 100, which is a large haul compared to your other options.

The best way to farm gold with this method is to open as many chests as possible, back to back. To do this, we recommend heading to the Jagged Peaks region. There are dozens of these chests littered across the mountain, and you can easily glide from peak to peak using the Big Beak mount. If you are unsure of how to find the Big Beak, check out our complete guide onWhere To Find All Mounts.

Piglin Hordes

The surefire way of farming gold is by taking down the piglin hordes. The larger piglin hordes are essentially bases, each equipped with a piglin spawning portal. Each of these bases is a part of the main story campaign and is well fortified with a plethora of piglin defensive structures like walls, towers, spawners, and ballista. When destroying the main defensive structures, you will be awarded with prismarine. But to nab some gold, you’ll need to also topple the non-threatening structures. These typically look like industrial equipment like drills.

There are also smaller hordes that are not a part of the main story. These hordes are represented by tiny tower icons on the main map. They won’t have any walls or portals, and will typically only have a couple of towers and a spawner. Like the larger bases, target the non-threatening structures to acquire some gold. Sometimes, there are also locked chests at these bases, which most often contain 100 gold. To unlock them, you’ll need a piglin key which can be acquired by defeating random piglins wandering the wild.

Quickest Way To Farm Gold

To farm gold as fast as possible, we recommend focusing on taking down the smaller piglin hordes. They can be cleared in only a couple of minutes which means you can do several of them in the same amount of time it would require to take down one large piglin base. With the addition of the frequent locked chests, the small hordes can be an easy way for you to max out your reserves with little effort.

Gathering gold from the large bases is also a good method, especially when you are already planning on destroying one of them to progress the story. When the portal goes down, it will destroy all remaining structures, giving you easy access to the resources they drop. However, you often won’t have enough time to run around the base gathering them before they disappear, especially since there is a cutscene after each portal falls that eats into your gathering time. To maximize your resource haul, it is best to take your time to individually take out each of the structures before going for the portal.
