Kadokawa Games revealed the first full-length gameplay trailer forMetal Max Xeno Rebornon PS4 and Switch. The trailer shows some cool tank battles against giant monsters, along with some exploration on foot.

Over on Twitter,Metal Maxproducer Juntaro Kouno alsoshared some commentson the game. Certain Japanese fans were most notably worried that each party member cannot ride their own tank, as the trailer shows all the characters riding the same one. Producer Kouno confirmed each character can indeed each ride their own tank.

Producer Kouno also confirmed that more information regardingMetal Max Xeno Reborn’s new game systems will be revealed in January 2020. This will be at theMetal Max2021 Road to 30th Anniversary event, on January 17.

Metal Max Xeno Rebornis a remake of 2018 releasedMetal Max Xeno,with new features and realistic-looking environments instead of an anime aesthetic. The characters, designed by Oda Non, keep the same anime style, however. The game is part of the franchise’s30th-anniversary project.AMetal Max Xeno Reborn 2game was already announced for a 2020 release on PS4 and Switch. Another game tentatively namedCode Zerois also coming in 2021, on unknown platforms. In my opinion, Metal Maxis a pretty niche franchise be it in or outside Japan, so it’s nice to see it’s still alive and surviving, echoing its end of century post-apocalyptic theme. I’m looking forward to this.
