It can be tough to figure out the best decks for Mockingbird in Marvel Snap, but if you need help we’ve got you covered!

This week’s addition, Cannonball, is sure to be an interesting card but his ability makes him a bit of an oddball in terms of the archetype he aligns most effectively with.

Marvel Snap’s Mockingbird card.

Best Cannonball Decks

Cannonball’s ability states, “On Reveal: Move the highest-Power enemy card here away. If you’re able to’t, destroy it with a Rock.” This means that it has a few different capabilities and stands as a pretty versatile card. His ability is similar toShang-Chiin that he can destroy a high-Power card, but it could even be a step above that since Shang can only destroy cards 10-Power or above. Cannonball can destroy the highest card in a lane regardless of its Power. Cannonball also has quite a bit of move compatibility, with his ability being most similar to that ofJuggernaut,Aero, orStegron.

Since he has some interesting synergies, three different decks have been included below. A junk deck, a move deck, and a destroy deck. He may be the least effective in a destroy deck and the most effective in a move deck, but his success will still come down to the players using him and how they choose to take advantage of his ability. Cannonball probably won’t change the meta and he’s not a pillar card where decks will be based solely on him, but he’s an interesting card to play with!

Marvel Snap’s Cannonball card surrounded by Kraven and Annihilus.

On Reveal: Move the highest-Power enemy card here away. If you can’t, destroy it with a Rock.

Cannonball Junk Deck

This junk deck focuses on filling the opponent’s side of the board with low-Power (or negative-Power) cards and useless filler like Rocks. This can be accomplished in a few different ways. Cards likeViper,Annihilus, andDebriiwill throw cards onto the opponent’s side of the board manually. With Viper, players can even choose a specific card to send over if they make moves strategically. Annihilus is great because he will throw all negative-Power cards across the board at once!

Green GoblinandHobgoblinare easy to understand, as they both fly to the opponent’s side of the board to lower their Power in a specific lane.Ravonna Renslayeris great in this deck because, when played, she will lower the cost of cards like Green Goblin and Hobgoblin, allowing players to throw them down earlier in the game!Selenewill cause the opponent’s lowest-Power card to drop even more and Black Widow can force them to play a negative-Power card on their side of the board.Shang-Chiexists to ensure the opponent doesn’t overpower the junk cards thrown to them andCannonballcan be a turn-six backup as well.

Marvel Snap deck comprised of Cannonball, Iron Fist, Nightcrawler, Jeff, Kingpin, Kraven, Polaris, Hercules, Miles Morales, Stegron, Aero, and Magneto.

Cannonball Move Deck

This deck emphasizes Cannonball’s move abilities. Since Cannonball will only destroy a card when all other locations are inaccessible, it is more likely that he will end up moving the highest-Power card in a lane. Players can take advantage of this with a move deck. Cards likeIron Fist,Nightcrawler, andJeffcan be used to manually boostKravenwith the player’s cards. Players can also attack/lower the Power of the opponent’s cards by combing Kingpin with force-move cards likeAero,Magneto,Stegron,Cannonball, andPolaris! This can be highly effective and cost the opponent quite a few points across the board.

Kraven is definitely the card players want to focus on powering up as he can carry a lane easily with enough movement around him!Herculesis also a great card to focus on as he can jump around more than once throughout a match!

Marvel Snap deck comprised of Cannonball, Grandmaster, Gambit, Gladiator, Killmonger, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Iron Lad, Shang-chi, Doctor Octopus, Lady Deathstrike, Knull, and Death.

Cannonball Destroy Deck

This deck focuses on Cannonball’s destructive capabilities. Though he won’t be able to successfully destroy cards very often, it is still something that can happen from time to time, and when it does this deck will benefit. Unlike a traditional destroy deck, this one focuses not on destroying your own cards, but on destroying the opponent’s cards. Cards likeGambit,Gladiator,Killmonger,Shang-Chi,Lady Deathstrike, andNegasonic Teenage Warheadwill all do some serious damage to the opponent’s side of the board.

Iron Lad is great because he can mimic the ability of one of your other cards.Doctor Octopuscan ensure that at least one lane is filled, making Cannonball’s destructive ability more likely.Grandmastercan cause one of these On Reveal cards to repeat their ability again, which is very beneficial. All of these destroyed cards will increase the Power ofKnulland lower the Cost ofDeath, making it possible for players to throw down a huge turn-six play!

Marvel Snap: Best Galactus Decks

Galactus is one of Marvel Snap’s “Big Bads”. If you’re struggling to find the best deck to stick him in, this guide can help!

Best Cannonball Counters

Cannonball is an On Reveal card. As with all On Reveal cards,Cosmois a real issue and can force players to make an undesirable move to avoid his Ongoing ability. Cannonball’s destroy capabilities can be impacted by the placement ofArmor, though this can be pretty easily avoided. Since Cannonball will likely fall in line as a turn-six play,Leechcan also cause quite a few issues for players making a strategic move.

Best Cannonball Synergies

Cannonball works very well with most cards that have a move ability. This is because he will primarily be used as a movement card. Cards likeKraven(who gains Power from cards moving to his lane) orKingpin(who lessens an enemy card’s Power when it moves to his lane) can be huge assets in a Cannonball deck.

When he’s not moving cards, he will be destroying them! This can only happen if there are no positions to move an opponent’s card to. Players can force this scenario to take place by filling the board with cards, ensuring the destruction of a card using Cannonball’s ability. This can be done by using cards likeDoctor OctopusorDebriito fill the board, making destruction more likely than movement.

Is Cannonball Worth It?

Cannonball’s ability is definitely interesting, but he is unlikely to alter the game’s meta in any massive way. He is also not a central card in most decks, meaning players won’t be building decks around him but will instead include him in a deck where his abilities can be exploited. This makes him an unessential card in the long run. Players will bebetter off waiting to purchase Cannonballto see how he plays out.

Players that would like to obtain Cannonball can do so in one of two ways when he debuts. He will be featured in the weeklySpotlight Cache, where players can spend a Spotlight Key to get the chance to obtain him. Players can also buy him in theToken Shop, though he will cost a whopping 6,000 Tokens since he will join the game as a Series 5 card.
