Publisher 2K and developer Firaxis Games has released a brand new trailer for their upcoming turn-based RPG, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, which introduces The Hunter, a fully customizable character, as the main protagonist in the game.
The trailer showcases the Hunter as a playable character in Marvel’s Midnight Suns' ever-expanding roster, which also includes the likes ofCaptain America, Iron Man,Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and Wanda. From various haircuts to suits for the main protagonist, players can customize the Hunter to reflect their own personal tastes. Although the one-minute snippet focuses on customization options, the teaser contains several cutscenes that allude to the characters' skills.
As seen in the trailer above, The Hunter appears to have the ability to cause area damage as she turns her blade into a hammer and smashes the enemies. This could be related to thecharacter storybased on the relationship between the Hunter and her mother Lilith. She is a demi-goddess of evil dedicated to the weakness of humanity after her husband passed away from a plague. According to publisher2K, more details regarding the character’s skills and gameplay will be provided soon.
The Hunter has an emotional story in which the protagonist must battle her mother, Lilith, because she is the only one who is strong enough to restore peace. After her father passed away, the Hunter was separated from her mother and grew up with Lilith’s sister, Caretaker. Having had tough adolescence due to her mother losing control of herself, the Hunter sacrificed herself to destroy Lilith. However, Lilith was raised by the Hydra organization in a more powerful form made possible by modern technology. The Hunter, on the other side, has been resurrected and must once more fight against darkness.
Initially set to launch on October 7th, Marvel’s Midnight Suns has since been delayed until “later this fiscal year”, according to the developers. The hotly-anticipated tactical RPG does not have a firm release date at the of writing, but is expected to launch before March of next year.
