Since the launch ofMarvel Rivalsin December of 2024, the game has become one of the best hero shooter games in the gaming industry. This third-person 6v6 title has captured the hearts of gamers andMarvelfans alike. With an average player count of over 200,000 per day, this game has truly reignited the hero shooter genre.

AlthoughMarvel Rivalsis massively popular right now, the game lacks some essential gameplay-enhancing features. However, there is one hidden feature in the title that often goes unnoticed by players.
An overlooked feature inMarvel Rivalsyou might have missed
Marvel Rivalconsists of three total roles, which are theVanguardsor the tanks, the Strategists or the healers, and the Duelists. The game is designed to be played with synergy among these three roles. But sometimes due to the chaotic nature ofMarvel Rivals, it becomes really difficult to keep track of the progressions in the game.

In any hero-shooter, situational awareness is one of the most important elements of the game. Winning team fights is extremely crucial for any match and during the heat of the battle, it becomes rather hard to tell if your team has a player advantage or not.
OneMarvel Rivalsplayer on Reddit shared how you can turn on the knockout sound cue feature in the settings. This feature helps by giving a sound cue to the player when a character in the game has been knocked out. It helps in assessing the situation of the round and gives the player a chance to decide whether to engage or back off when they get notified by the sound cue.

You can find this feature in sound settings, under the combat mix tab in the settings menu.
Why doesMarvel Rivalsneed special features for situational awareness?
Valorant is another hero shooterthat heavily relies on many auditory and visual cues for the situational awareness of the player. The first-person shooter by Riot Games is one of the best titles in the industry who have masterfully implemented these features in their game. In comparison,Marvel Rivalsfalls short in that aspect.
AlthoughMarvel Rivalsis a relatively straightforward 6v6 shooter, the gameplay mechanics incorporate a significant amount of visual and auditory clutter to the player. These features include some walls or buildings breaking down or/and the dynamic map changes. These transitions can overwhelm the players and make it harder for them to have proper situational awareness during a crucial battle.

Many players have expressed concern about the visual and auditory clutter in the game and although NetEase Games, the developers ofMarvel Rivalshave introduced some features like enabling knockout sound cues, these solutions are surely not feasible enough for a game this chaotic.
