However, NetEase Games has addressed this massive issue and explained why players are getting false bans. According to community manager James on the game’sofficial Discord server, these bans are affecting gamers who are playing the hero-shooter on compatibility layers programs.

With these programs, players can usually play games or run various kinds of applications on other operating systems. Although it’s not cheating in any way or sense,Marvel Rivals‘ anti-cheating software did not end up accounting for it and flagged users.
The developers have resolved this issueand removed bans for those affected by this frustrating issue, apologizing to everyone who was accidentally banned. NetEase has promised that it’s working to fix its anti-cheat, and players won’t have to deal with the issue in the future.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen false ban waves in hero-shooters. One of the most infamousfeatures inOverwatch 2is the game’sban system, which Blizzard introduced to safeguard the community. The feature acts against toxicity, monitors all voice chat communications, and takes strict action against abusive players.
