Spider-Man has always swung his way into the hearts of fans worldwide. He is not only one of the biggest characters in the comic book genre but the web-slinger is counted among the greatest fictional characters of all time.

With the dust settled on “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” anticipation is high for the web-head’s next chapter. News has emerged that the creative team behind “Spider-Man 4” has started taking shape, with a famous duo on the shortlist – the writers behind DC’s “The Flash”.
John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein Rumored To Head MCU’sSpider-Man 4
The director’s chair forSpider-Man 4is heating up, and a new rumor has some fans swinging with uncertainty. John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the writing duo behind the hit comedyHorrible BossesandDungeons & Dragons, are reportedly in the mix to helm the superhero’s next adventure,as perindustry insider Daniel Richtman
The wrinkles in this web come from their involvement with DC’sThe Flashmovie. Before Joby Harold took over the script of the movie, Daley and Goldstein had worked on it and were also given writing credits for the film. It is no secret that the movie failed miserably at the box office and was a critical failure as well.

But here’s the other side of the sling: Daley and Goldstein are undeniably talented filmmakers. They actually co-wrote the screenplay forSpider-Man: Homecoming, the film that introduced Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. Their comedic sensibilities and understanding of the MCU’s tone meshed perfectly with the story of Peter Parker.
Ultimately, whether Daley and Goldstein are the right fit forSpider-Man 4remains to be seen. But their history with the character, coupled with their proven talent, suggests they shouldn’t be dismissed out of hand. As long as Sam Raimi himself does not enter the fray, the two seem to be a solid frontrunner.

Despite High Hopes, TheFlashWas A Huge Critical and Commercial Failure
While the work of Daley and Goldstein onSpider-Man: Homecomingwas a triumph, they were also involved in the screenplay for Warner Bros.’The Flash. Despite boasting the return ofMichael Keatonas Batman, the movie has become a cautionary tale for superhero films.
Production reportedly faced difficulties, the film’s star was embroiled in controversy, and the overall plot was also not very impressive. Both fans and critics gave the movie a lukewarm reaction at best. Commercially, things were even bleaker. Made on a productionbudgetof $220 Million, the movie grossed around $271 Millionworldwide.

However, the finances of the movie industry are way more complex than that. Courtesy of promotion and advertising costs, it isestimatedthat the studio might have lost as much as $200 Million on the movie. Fans can stream the movie on Amazon Prime.
