The fourth and fifth phases of the MCU saw the comic book franchise introduce a variety of characters to the audiences. However, the phases were also marked by the absence of beloved characters such asRobert Downey Jr.‘s Iron Man.
In a recent discussion on X, one fan by the username@samk0006, pointed out that the Multiverse Saga lacked a single compelling lead character. The user cited Iron Man as an example, who served as the de facto lead character of the Infinity Saga. Moreover, fans were deeply invested in Iron Man’s journey as he was the focal point of the franchise’s first three phases.

As the tweets suggest, most fans agreed with the idea that the MCU lacked a clear main character in its recent phases and it could be a major issue in the build-up to the Multiverse Saga’s conclusion.
