Fortnitebrought a bundle to the game after the anime, which includes 3 skins of the characters (Kafka Hibino, Kikoru Shinomiya, and Reno Ichikawa), 3 pickaxes which are the Kaiju killing weapons in the anime, 3 back blings, a weapon skin wrap and an emote, a total of 11 items and the cost of the whole bundle is 3800 V-bucks.
Why are fans critical of the crossover?
Kaiju No. 8is a relatively newer and underrated addition in the world of anime, with many people in the anime community not even knowing about the existence of this anime. Despite, the intriguing storyline of the anime,Kaiju No. 8has yet to find global recognition.
Fortnitehas brought the series to the spotlight with their latest collaboration and sparking interest in the players of the game who have not previously engaged with the anime.Fortnitefans are now eager to dive into the world ofKaiju No. 8and explore the anime by themselves.

Some players are speculating that the collaboration withFortniteis a marketing strategy for Production I.G to draw interest to theupcoming new season of the animewhich is set to release in July of this year. They are even speculating that the Anti-Kaiju Defence Force was added to the game because of therecent arrival of Godzilla.
This has to be the most “controversial” anime collaboration we’ve had so far in Fortnite 💀I posted the trailer for it two days ago and thousands of people are still annoyed in the replies & quote retweets 😭pic.twitter.com/gz9WFBZFy9

People keep getting mad like “it’s not popular enough!” but BRUH that’s why they’d add it to Fortnite! It’s a newer anime that is looking for that marketing – they want to be more recognized and watched. That’s one of the main points of doing a collab. To spread awareness lol
they released an anime collab, that has kaijus in it, cos godzilla…. but people are losing it cos the anime is not mainstream enough and therefore don’t know it xD

While some fans love that the anime is finally getting the attention it deserves, others are offended by this move from Epic Games, saying that the developers wanted a quick cash grab from the producers of the anime.
