Made in Abyss Season 2 Episode 5 Recap
While Reg tries to make his way back to the village, he finds himself attacked by the monsters, but he is then saved by Gaburoon’s interference unit. The robot then guides Reg back to the village called Iruburu, where Riko is having a conversation with Wazukyan, the founder of the village.
In search of Nanachi and Reg, Riko decides to explore a cave that Hollows are afraid to enter; she doesn’t find them in the cave but comes across Vueko, who was imprisoned there for trying to prevent the creation of Iruburu. Riko frees Vueko and asks for her help to find Nanachi. She takes her to Belaf’s location, where Riko discovers that Nanachi has traded her freedom to prevent Belaf from using Mitty as a food source.
Belaf then reveals that a masked man named Bondrewd visited Iruburu and gave Mitty to him. Belaf sacrificed 724 of his organs to create a perfect copy of her. Riko then asks for the price of Nanachi and Mitty’s freedom, to which he replies that she would either have to give up both her eyes and legs or half of her internal organs.
