Amazon Gameshas told PCGamerN that it intends tobridge the gapbetween the Korean and western versions of theLost ArkMMORPG. The western version has usually suffered from frequent delays in receiving new content such as classes, PvP modes, and other improvements that are always introduced first in the Korean version.
“After the first year of release in the west, we feel great about the differences between the Korean and western versions of the game,” says Amazon Games franchise leader Soomin Park, with the time needed to localize content apparently being the main cause of these delays.

“However, I can say that we are planning to greatly reduce the gap between the western build and the Korean build in our second year compared to our first year.” Park adds, assuring players that the speed of the updates will be greatly accelerated: “The speed of reducing that gap will be faster than what players expect, and new classes will be released at a faster pace than that of new continents and Legion Raids.”
Currently, a handful of classes are yet to be introduced on the western servers, including the Artist (scheduled forglobal release in April 2023), Meteorologist, Slayer, and the female assassin class Soul Eater. In addition, the vast continent of Elgacia, made up of several floating islands and inhabited by the winged Lazenis, has yet to be added, despite being introduced in the Korean version last April.
Park believes that the delay in releasing new content for the western version of the game is actually beneficial for global players, as it allows the company to thoroughly test and refine the content with Korean users before releasing it worldwide. As a result, Western players can actually enjoy years of refinements and content improvements, including balance changes, without having to deal with any of the issues that Korean players face.
Moreover, Park also mentioned that the company will be introducing new initiatives to help new players catch up with existing players, in addition to existing methods such as Power Pass and Hyper Express. The Power Pass is a valuable item that allows players to instantly advance from level 10 to level 50 and acquire the appropriate gear for their level. Hyper Express, on the other hand, is an event that helps players advance from item level 1302 to 1370, which is crucial for accessing new regions and continents.
