Warner Bros. Games has recently confirmed that it is looking to move away from first-person games and will double down on live service, free-to-play, and mobile games. Is Hogwarts Legacy 2 Going to be Live Service? WBD Details Future Live Service Plans
A concerned fan has now started a petition onChange.orgwhere they argue why the sequel should not be a live-service game and seek player’s support to stop it from being developed as one. The fan said that the main reason whyHogwarts Legacywas successful and sold so much is that it was a“single-player experience”.
He also added that people don’t want to see the sequel as a live service with microtransactions, which has been a recurring issue these recent years. The fan further added that“live services are a plague”to the gaming industry and fans hate them.

He said that live-service games such asFortnite,Apex Legends, and a few others are only successful because they give a unique and fun experience, and a live-service Hogwarts Legacy sequel would not be a“unique experience or something gamers would be interested [in].”
Fans Want Single-Player Games and Have Some Suggestions for the Sequel
The fan has said that if the sequel is a live service, it will probably fail and eventually shut down. They added that the sequel should instead be a single-player game and improve from the first game. It should introduce Quidditch, which is famously missing from the original title, and make for a fun and engaging experience.

The fan also said that the developer should also bring a morality system, and try to include the Nemesis system that was inMiddle Earth: Shadow of War. The petition has been signed by 4734 fans at the time of writing and will soon cross 5000 signatures.
Fans have said that“single-player games are still relevant”and important for the industry. A player added that Hogwarts Legacy is an incredible game, but “live service games are garbage.”One fan said that live service games are a“money grabbing enterprise”and will spoil the sequel.
