Lies of P: Overtureis an expansion of thecritically acclaimed Soulslike, adding around 20 hours to the adventure. Unlike other DLCs (but similar to a FromSoftware game), Overture can’t be accessed from the main menu and requires players to reach a certain point in the base game.
Besides bringing a whole new storyline, Overture also includes a ton of new weapons, Legion Arms, NPCs, and levels to explore. If you’re anything like me, getting to experience this DLC as quickly as possible is a must.
Lies of P Overture DLC Is Almost The Same Length As Other Full-Feature Games
The Overture DLC is made of new ideas, stuff that didn’t make it in the base game due to time constraints, and even ideas from the community.
In this guide, you’ll learn how to access the Overture DLC inLies of P. You’ll also learn my recommendations on how to reach the correct chapter as quickly as possible.
How to Start Overture DLC in Lies of P
In order to access the Overture DLC in Lies of P, players mustreach and complete Chapter 9 of the base game.After completing the final act of Chapter 9, a new item will appear in the player’s inventory called"Star’s Chrysalis."
Once you earn this item, a notification will appear on the screen informing you that Overture is now available. To actually start Overture, players need to teleport to thePath of the Pilgrim Stargazer of Chapter 5.
Immediately upon spawning at the Path of the Pilgrim Stargazer, a new cutscene will begin, indicating the start of the DLC. This cutscene shows a butterfly creating a trail to a new location, so go ahead and follow this trail.

The butterfly will lead you to the broken-down Stargazer fromthe base game, which will now magically fix itself.Interact with the Stargazer to enter the Overture DLC.
Luckily, players can switch between the world of Overture and the base game’s world whenever they please. To do so, interact with any Stargazer and press Triangle (or the corresponding button on your preferred platform) to switch timelines.
How to Quickly Reach Chapter 9 in Lies of P
Unfortunately, there’s a good chance that a ton of players don’t have a save file that is near or past Chapter 9. If this is the case for you, then you’ll have to play through almost the entire base game of Lies of P to try out the DLC.
However, the DLC didn’t only include a new adventure,it also added difficulty settings. These difficulty settings can make it much easier to reach Chapter 9.
Platforming Is My Worst Enemy In Lies Of P And Elden Ring
I’d rather spend an hour cooking a tough boss than jumping across some slippery ledges.
If you’re one of the unlucky ones who didn’t reach Chapter 9 in time for the DLC, which is likely due to its surprise drop atSummer Game Fest, then I recommendputting the game on the lowest difficulty option, “Butterfly’s Guidance.”
Butterfly’s Guidance makesthe entire game a cakewalk, especially if you have played Lies of P before. This will allow you to blow through Chapters 1 through 9 with almost no struggle at all, making it possible tocomplete each chapter in less than an hour.
However, keep in mind that Overture is harder than the base game. So, even though you may not fully explore for gear and will focus on rushing to Chapter 9, I do recommendturning in Rare Ergo to Alidoroto get Boss Weapons in return. Rare Ergo is unmissable in a playthrough considering they drop from main bosses.
It’s important to go into Overture with a decent build, otherwise you’re in for a really challenging time. Having Boss Weapons in your arsenal will level the playing field.
