Differences Between Cycle & Legacy
Cycle and Legacy are realms that don’t overlap with each other.Cycles are seasonal realms that last around 3-4-months, and once this period is over, a new Cycle takes over. Any andall characters created in the previous Cycle will move to Legacy.
Cycles are meant to befresh startsfor new and returning players starting the game anew. You’ll need toplay through the campaign from the beginningwith a completely new character and the encouragement to try out the latest builds.The contents in both Cycles and Legacy are the same, meaning if the developers introduce a new boss to the game, both Legacy and Cycle players will be able to find and battle it.
Characters created in Cycle cannot interact with those in Legacyand vice versa. This means if you have a character in Legacy and one of your friends is in Cycles, you two won’t be able to play together until one of you creates a new character in the other realm.
Cycles will have Leaderboards, while Legacy servers will not. While this doesn’t matter for most people, it’s a nice-to-have that’s only available in Cycles.
Should You Choose Cycles Or Legacy
You should choose Cycle, and there are multiple reasons why. You might be thinking, if both realms are effectively the same content-wise, why does this decision matter? The main reason is thata large majority of the player base will be playing on Cyclesfor a majority of their playtime. Not only does this affectco-op, but how ‘alive’ the servers feel as well.
Another reason to choose Cycles is because of the economy. Each new Cycle is afresh economywhere everyone starts anew. This means there are no players that are vastly more powerful than any other players with tons more loot to overtake the marketplace.Characters in the Legacy server will have a huge head starton any new characters being created, as they’ve had tons of time to get ahead. Maybe even afive-year head startif they’ve been playing since the early days of beta.
