After the introduction of the Marineford arc, the majority of anime viewers worldwide abandoned their favorite shows in favor ofOne Piece. The arc was a perfect package as it combined the thrill of the war, the excitement of family reunion, and the sadness of death in the series, which is quite rare for Eiichiro Oda to draw.

Marineford Arc

However, the aspect of the Marineford arc that attracted the fans most was the first experience of watching the unimaginable strength of an Emperor of the Sea. Although Whitebeard was extremely sick, the Strongest Man in the World managed to turn Marineford upside down. Now imagine what would have happened if Kaido, the Strongest Creature in the World, had joined the war.

AOne Piecefan recently talked about the death and destruction that would have happened if Kaido had joined the Paramount war. However, the fan theorizes that he might have ended up being defeated or captured by the Marines as there were some heavy hitters from the Navy’s side.

Kaido Wanted To Join The Paramount War

The Governor-General of the Beast Pirates, Kaido, is a power-hungry character, who not only loves to acquire power as much as possible but also likes to challenge other powerful characters to maintain his title as the Strongest Creature. He himself admitted during his fight with Luffy in Wano that he loves to fight strong opponents.

Thus, when Kaido heard the rumor about Whitebeard going to Marineford to save Ace from his execution, he decided to stop Whitebeard midway and attack his fleet along with King, his second in command. But before he could reach Whitebeard,Kaido was faced by another Emperor of the Sea, Red-Haired Shanks.

It was later revealed in the series that Shanks and his crew managed to keep Kaido away from the Paramount war to stop the situation from escalating even further. If by chance Kaido had reached Marineford, the battle would be ten times more chaotic than it already was.

One PieceFan Explains What Would Have Happened If Kaido Had Joined the Paramount War

According to a theory posted by u/Backrish on Reddit, if Kaido had joined the Paramount War, he would have invited his own death. The theory states that if Kaido had reached Marineford, he would have had to face the Navy first which would have been a difficult task for him since all three Admirals, and other prominent members of the Marines like Garp would have focused their attention on him.

Additionally, other major characters like the Warlords, the Blackbeard Pirates, etc. would have been throwing hands against the former Yonko.

Thus, Kaido would have had to form an alliance with Whitebeard in order to defeat the Navy so that he could then focus on his power display against Whitebeard.

The problem with this plan would have been that as soon as Ace would have been freed, the Whitebeard Pirates would have escaped the Paramount War, leaving Kaido alone to fend off so many major league characters. Plus, even Shanks would have joined the battlethen. And as Kaido only had King at his side, he surely would have been defeated or captured by the Navy.
