What Happened Previously On Jujutsu Kaisen?
Chapter 229 began with Gojo and Sukuna once again activating their Domain Expansions. Gojo wiped away his nosebleed and smiled at Sukuna. Upon witnessing Sukuna’s instant use of Domain Expansion, Angel deduced that Sukuna could also regenerate his burnt-out Cursed Energy using Reversed Cursed Technique. Kasukabe suggested that Gojo should inflict massive damage on Sukuna to prevent him from maintaining his Domain, just as Sukuna had destroyed Gojo’s Domain from the outside.
Shoko put trust in Gojo and advised them not to perceive the unfolding events as unfavorable for him. He explained that if Sukuna had to confront Unlimited Void for even a moment, his powers would become useless. Furthermore, Shoko added that if the Shrine was destroyed within three minutes, Gojo would undoubtedly emerge victorious.
Within Gojo’s Domain, they both engaged in a fierce exchange, with Gojo exhibiting his overwhelming prowess against Sukuna. As the intense battle raged on, Gojo attempted to strike Sukuna, but his attack was skillfully blocked by the latter. Suddenly, both Gojo’s protective barrier and Sukuna’s Shrine were obliterated simultaneously, leaving Sukuna with severe injuries once more. The unfolding events caused concern for Mei Mei, while Miwa confidently asserted that Gojo held the upper hand.
Now, it was time for them to activate their Domains once again, but this time, Gojo managed to activate his Domain slightly earlier than Sukuna. Although it was merely a fraction of a second, it proved crucial in destroying Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine within the three-minute timeframe while they were within Gojo’s Domain. Consequently, Sukuna found himself confronted with Gojo’s deadliest attack - the Unlimited Void.
Having seized the opportunity, Gojo declared that he wouldn’t hold back against Sukuna; he intended to inflict severe damage on him, aiming to crush his heart, lungs, and liver, much like he had done with Yuji at the juvenile detention center. Despite feeling cornered, Sukuna summoned his own version of Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga, a beast even creepier and larger than the original.
The sight of the colossal creature surprised even Gojo, but he readied himself to eliminate it swiftly before the beast could adapt to the Unlimited Void. Employing the Cursed Technique Reversal, Gojo sought to confront the threat head-on. However, to his astonishment, Mahoraga managed to destroy Gojo’s Domain from within, revealing its ability to adapt to Gojo’s techniques, leaving him even more shocked.
