However, JRE was initially formed in 2009 alongside one of Rogan’s dearest friends and comedy associates, Brian Redban. The podcast often highlights topics ranging from sports to business, celebrity gossip, science, art, technology, philosophy, and more.

It was the podcast’s diverse nature that captured a massive audience on multiple streaming platforms such as iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, and more.

Rogan initially started uploading his work on YouTube before acquiring a deal with Spotify in 2020. The deal was worth $200 million for three years according toGeeks for Geeks.

During the initial deal, JRE was essentially a Spotify exclusive and they also had him remove the uploads he had made on other platforms. However, after renewing his deal with the platform in 2024, Rogan was allowed to stream his podcast on other platforms, earning more revenue through ad support.

It is claimed that the former national Tae Kwon Do champ currently will earn at least $450 million from Spotify alone. JRE also has only 20,000 monthly listeners and 14.5 million followers on the streaming platform.

The New Jersey native is much more than just a fight-loving commentator, as he also finds time to manage a career in comedy. While Rogan isn’t commentating on fights or hosting his podcast, he spends his time doing comedy tours across the country.

Rogan founded a comedy club called the “Comedy Mothership”, which is based in Austin, Texas. This club promotes freedom of speech and anti-cancel culture. He makes a good chunk of his money doing comedy!
