Noted character actor John Capodice reportedly passed away a few days ago. Capodice was known for playing supporting roles in multiple shows and films. On TV, he was best known for his role inSeinfeldas the Laundromat Vic and inGeneral Hospital.

Capodice has been a small but noticeable part of films likeJacob’s Ladder, the Jim Carrey-starrerAce Ventura: Pet Detective, andWall Street. He also played the ill-fated bus driver Bob in the Keanu Reeves-starrerSpeed, in which he has a cheerful conversation with Reeves’ character.

Throughout his over 50-year career, Capodice has played a bus driver, a sergeant, a laundromat owner, a police chief, a fire chief, a detective, a pizza chef, and more.
One of his best-known roles is that of Sergeant Aguado inJim Carrey’sAce Ventura: Pet Detective. In a hilarious scene, Aguado makes fun of Carrey’s character for being a pet detective and sarcastically asks him to solve the case of a dead cockroach which he just stomped to death. Carrey gives a brilliant retort to him in the scene.

Another film that he has a major speaking part in wasKeanu Reeves’Speed. John Capodice plays the bus driver Bob who meets Reeves’ Jack Traven at the coffee shop and has a fun conversation. Unfortunately, he goes into the bus that the film’s antagonist played by Dennis Hopper fits with explosives as a warning shot. The film was abreakthrough for actress Sandra Bullockand earned $350.4 million at the box office (viaBox Office Mojo).

In an interview withNetwork Magazine, Capodice spoke about his journey as an actor and the obstacles he had to face. While he reportedly got his mother’s support, most people reportedly called him ‘nuts’. On becoming a noted but missed part of films, he said,
One doesn’t choose acting; it chooses you. I wish that I could be more specific, but after half a century of living this life, I’m still pursuing it. Hopefully, this provides a bit of insight into what it is to be an actor…As far as other options, I didn’t have any. You see, acting was in my blood.
