Hollywood star Jake Gyllenhaal is returning to the silver screen with the adrenaline-packed remake of the classic action-dramaRoad House. Directed by Doug Liman, the film features him as Elwood Dalton, a former UFC middleweight fighter turned reluctant bouncer at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys. Prime Video recently released the trailer of the movie, featuring an intense UFC fight scene, which was filmed last year at the UFC 285.

A remake of the 1989 Patrick Swayze-led action-dramaRoad HousefeaturesJake Gyllenhaalas a former UFC middleweight fighter. Around a year ago, the actor was spotted filming for the movie at a UFC 285 event with the UFC fighter Jay Hieron.

Recently aTwitteruser shared a brief glimpse of Gyllenhaal’s faux match, stating that the UFC posted and deleted the clip yesterday. The clip features the Oscar-nominated actor in his role as Elwood Dalton, being interviewed as he says,“Come on—Man, just f*cking take him out, shut him up! Shut him up! It’s kill or be killed.”

The footage, however, has left fans disappointed, as they state,“It’s the corniest thing they’ve ever done.”Many also stated that although Gyllenhaal is a great actor, the clip certainly does not feature the best of his work.

Jake Gyllenhaal’sRoad HouseConfirms Release Date

Jake Gyllenhaal’s remake ofRoad Housewill be available for streaming in over 240 territories worldwide on Prime Video on August 24, 2025. The official poster for the film has been released, featuring Easter eggs paying homage to the cult classic, including references to the iconic Double Deuce bar and Patrick Swayze’s character.

The movie also features Billy Magnussen, Arturo Castro, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Lukas Gage, and Beau Knapp alongside Gyllenhaal. Notably, MMA legend Conor McGregor is also making his acting debut in the movie. It has been in development since 2013, and the movie was officially greenlit in August 2022. Filming for theRoad Houseremake began around a year ago in August 2023.
