When early footage of D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox’sDaredevil: Born Againfailed to live up to Marvel Studios’ high standards, the 18-episode series was scrapped and rewritten in September 2023. Not long afterThe Punisher’swriter,Dario Scardapane, took over as showrunner, it was decided that the closed-off Marvel universe that had previously been available on Netflix would now be considered official MCU content.

D’Onofrio told THR:

“During our restart of all the creative on Daredevil: Born Again, all the creatives got together and said, ‘Look, this is how we’ve got to do it now. So we are for sure only speaking about it in terms of being directly connected to the original Daredevil, and that’s a great thing. It brings in a lot of cool stories and all the collateral story that happened in those original three seasons.”

Based on what he said, Bullseye, a supervillain developed by John Romita Sr. and Marv Wolfman, could make a terrifying comeback in the highly anticipated Disney+ series. Bullseye appeared in the third season of Netflix’sDaredevil, portrayed byWilson Bethel. The Daredevil-Bullseye rivalry could be one of the cool stories D’Onofrio might be talking about.

Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to undergo significant creative restructuring!

In 2003, Colin Farrell portrayed him in theDaredevilfilm, which was written and directed by Mark Steven Johnson. Given his unparalleled accuracy and insane tendencies, Bullseye was one of Daredevil’s most sought-after opponents. We should wait until the show’s release to find out what it takes for Bullseye to turn into Daredevil’s worst nightmare, as we eagerly await his return.
