Unlike the other shows in Netflix’s Marvel saga,Iron Fistdid not enjoy a positive reception in its run. The show starring Finn Jones received largely negative reviews. However, as the shows are now canon to the MCU timeline, it looks like Jessica Henwick is all set to replace Finn Jones as the titular character in the MCU.
A new rumor by a trusted insider suggests that Finn Jones’ Danny Rand will appear in the MCU, but the female Iron Fist will get the central role in the rumored upcoming show.
Although Season 2’s ending of the Netflix show already showed Henwick’s Colleen Wing as the new Iron Fist, the fans were mad over the recent update. Once again, the M-She-U debate was raised, and the superhero company was accused of gender-swapping a crucial character.

Is a new Iron Fist show in development?
According to new reports, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now serious with their street-level superheroes and will likely feature them in the iconic Devil’s Reign story arc. Reportedly,Daredevil: Born Againwill be the first step towards it. Amidst all this, a new Iron Fist show is also rumored to be in development by insider Daniel Richtman (via @DanielRPK)
However, the news comes with a catch. It is stated that althoughFinn Jones‘ Danny Rand will appear in the show, the central character will be a woman.

It will be interesting to see if it is Jessica Henwick or if the MCU decides to bring someone new as the character. In the comics, the Heroes for Hire was a prominent element in Danny Rand and Luke Cage’s story. The ardent comic book fans will go wild if the MCU also plans to work on that story arc.
