inZOI, the new rival toThe Sims, had to rush out a quick update, as videos depicting accidental acts of violence towards young people have become viral, forcing the developers to act fast and quickly patch the game before the ESRB starts calling.

As of the time of writing, inZOI in its Early Access stage has a T for Teen rating due to itscartoonish depictions of violenceand death, as well as innuendo related to adult acts. Kids are in the game, but they’re intended to be completely distant from the aforementioned content, as doing otherwise would send the rating into the stratosphere.

InZOI Still Needs Some Work In Early Access

According to a statement by publisher Krafton Inc., the ability to harm minors was unintentional and hasalready been fixed. Those playing the Early Access version of inZOI should already see the change implemented in their game.

The very reason thegame is in Early Accessis to resolve issues like these, though the developers likely never expected players to be able to cause such carnage within such a short timeframe. That being said, at least the issue was resolved quickly.

“This issue was caused by an unintended bug that has been resolved in the latest patch. These depictions are highly inappropriate and do not reflect the intent and values of inZOI. We understand the seriousness of this matter and age-appropriate content and we are strengthening our internal review processes to prevent similar incidents in the future.”

inZOI is the game poised to take thelife simulation crownfrom The Sims, so this kind of mayhem is to be expected. The first thing most players of The Sims did was try to kill their creations, so it’s no surprise that the inZOI fanbase starts out in the same way.
