After completing her tenure with the CBS sitcom,Kaley Cuocodove into a range of new roles, including a potential part in the 2022 filmGlass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
In an earlier interview withGlamour, the actress revealed that she was in the running for the role of Birdie Jay, which ultimately went toKate Hudson. Cuoco described having gone through several stages, from chemistry reads to Zoom calls.

And she was very confident about landing the part.“I was convinced [the part was mine],”she said before adding,“I was so convinced that my bags were packed for Greece.”

Cuoco admitted that, while she usually handles rejection well, this particular loss hit her hard.“I was so devastated,”she said, explaining,“I cried and I cried all night long. And it went to Kate.”
She further shared,

I mean, I was gutted over that. And that’s when I thought I was on fire, like, I’m for sure getting that. And they were like, “No, we’re going to go with Kate.“
She also expressed her disappointment over missing out on the role as it could have been a huge opportunity for her to share the screen with some of the most acclaimed actors such as Daniel Craig and Edward Norton.

Further into the conversation, Kaley Cuoco was asked if she was told the reason for not landing the role against Kate Hudson. The actress revealed that she was not given any reason for the rejection.
However, despite losing the role to the Oscar-nominated actress, Cuoco had no hard feelings towards her.“Knives is going to be great and Kate’s great,”Cuoco said before adding,“She was supposed to do it.”

Cuoco also expressed optimism for future opportunities, hoping to audition for the third installment of the franchise.“Maybe I’ll get to audition for the third one,”she told Glamour in the interview.
