Recently, on Instagram, James Gunn, CEO of DC Studios, had to respond to a disturbing allegation from a netizen who accused the filmmaker of visiting deceased s*x offender Jeffrey Epstein’s island. Amidst a convoluted climate following the unsealing of court documents tied to the disgraced financier, initially speculated to be a “client list” (which it is not), several rumors currently cloud the social media sphere. The records being made public are part of a lawsuit that Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s victims, filed against socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend, in 2015. Many were led to believe that unheard and unseen information regarding Epstein’s clients or co-conspirators would be made public when the previously sealed documents were ordered to be released.

Jimmy Kimmel, a late-night host, was among those who became embroiled due to tin-foiled hearsay and conjecture about whose names might be in the documents. The records made public so far do not contain the name of the television celebrity.

Although not tied to the recently released documents, he was accused of being associated withJeffrey Epsteinin some capacity. Commenting on anInstagrampost that mentioned the GOTG director’s sobriety and tagged the renowned filmmaker, one user wrote,“Was that before or after you went to Epstein’s island?”
Gunn responded with a linked attachment (viaDocumentCloud) of recorded flight logs, stating the following:

“No. We don’t begin filming until March. Writing is basically done and has been for a while, other than a comma here [and] … there.”
The studio executive also provided information aboutPeacemakerSeason 2, which Gunn had before disclosed will be canonical to the DCU. A fan inquired about theJohn Cenastarrer’s writing progress. The director revealed (viaThreads) that the premise has been“over halfway written.”
