However, the crime drama wasn’t the lone major CBS IP that the actress was interested in, as she was once in talks to appear inThe Big Bang Theory.
But given her commitment toNCIS, which saw her as a series regular since its inception, this planned collaboration never panned out in the end.

I’m good friends with Chuck Lorre, and he had written me a part for The Big Bang Theory. And I’m good friends with all of those guys; I’ve known Johnny Galecki [who plays Leonard] forever. And I was stoked to be on that show, but we could not work it out, schedule-wise.
On the flip side, Perette’s picky nature has also contributed to the lack of major projects under her belt, excludingNCIS, and as of now, she has little intention of returning to the realm of acting.

Although CBS’Brokeenticed the actress to step back into the small screen again, since parting ways withNCIS, Perrette has largely found it difficult to return to her roots, which boils down to her preferences. With the actress committed to working for the causes she believes in, she prefers to lean toward documentaries because of their authenticity (viaHello Magazine).
It’s why I only watch documentaries, I want the truth. For me, going back to being an actor would be taking away from this life of true authenticity that I’m living 100% of the time.
Even though it means we might never see herreturn to theNCISIP again, the actress remains grateful to the show and its impact on her career.
