Although Dwayne Johnson has recently been making headlines for his achievements in acting, his roots can be traced back to the world of American professional wrestling promotion. Having been an icon as The Rock, he helped revolutionize WWE, making it into what it has become today. Of course, he was not alone in this, as the people he fought were also to credit for the status he has today.

One of the biggest things to sell in the world of WWE is rivalries. Nothing seems to entertain audiences more; aside from bloodshed. Being one of the most iconic wrestlers ever, Johnson has his own rivalry with Steve Austin, better known as Stone Cold.

During one of their most iconic fights in 2003, the former whispered something in the latter’s ear. For years, many have wondered what these words were. Johnson eventually did reveal what he said to Austin and the answer is quite heartwarming.

Dwayne Johnson and Stone Cold’s Rivalry

One of the most iconic parts ofDwayne Johnson’scareer with the WWEwas his iconic rivalries with other wrestlers. None, however, were as significant to his fame as the one he had with Stone Cold. They fought together several times and were almost like partners in a dance. They both pushed each other as humanly possible and became the best of the best.

Although on-screen they were the other’s greatest enemies, in reality, both would be nothing without the other. Their paths were parallel and the trajectory of their careers was almost picturesque. The perfect example of the kind of relationship the two had would be in the words that Johnson whispered to Steve Austin as he was leaving the ring in 2003.

“I whispered to him, ‘I Thank you so much for everything that you’ve done for me.’ And I said, ‘I love you.’ He said, ‘I love you too.’ I hit him on the chest, and I left him in the ring,”said Dwayne Johnson.

He started by thanking Austin for helping him build his career and everything that he had done for him. This was followed by both of them telling each other that they loved them. Then Johnson made a blow to his chest, walking away from the ring. The entire moment was heartwarming, to say the least. Such a meaningful relationship coming from a rivalry is truly beautiful.
