The recent Xbox Games Showcase brought a lot of new video game announcements, and fans couldn’t be happier with the final result. However, it seems not everyone who watched the presentation understood what each title was about.
The popular YouTuber Asmongold received all kinds of negative comments for making a very misguided remark about a specific game. He said he hopedMetal Gear Solid Delta“wouldn’t be political,” which clearly proves he has never played any of these games created by Hideo Kojima.

The Xbox Games Showcase, one of the most solid and remarkable eventsof this past Summer Game Fest, presented all kinds of interesting titles for the coming months or even years. Many of these games are scheduled to be released next year. Notable announcements included a newGears of Wartitle, a newDoom, and never-before-seen gameplay for games likeMetal Gear Solid Delta.

Unfortunately, some content creators managed to anger fans with incredibly out-of-place comments. One of them was the popular YouTuber Asmongold, who, during the trailer for the remake of Hideo Kojima’s game, said he hoped it“wouldn’t be political.”

This clearly demonstrates that he has never played a game from this franchise, which has angered all the fans of this particular saga that has produced some of the best games ever, arguably. For a series as reputable as theMetal Gear Solidfranchise, the political and socio-economic themes throughout the games are apparent from the off, so it seems unusual a ‘fan’ could miss the point this much, but as with anything Asmongold does, it may not be as cut and dry as that.
After the Xbox Games Showcase, Hideo Kojima’s Followers Did Not Take This Comment Lightly on Social Media
On the other hand, many users on X asserted that the YouTuber was joking and not serious when he made that specific comment. One of the arguments often seen was the movements he made after making such a comment, with users claiming those movements clearly indicated a sarcastic remark. However, this type of comment caused the YouTuber to go viral once more, using the same strategy.

Another large number of users on this social network said that this YouTuber is known for saying whatever he thinks without any filter, proving that this comment could be 100% real. This is not the first time Asmongold has gotten himself into trouble by saying something that doesn’t make sense or directly angers an entire fandom. Definitely, this comment shows that the creator either never played one of these games or didn’t understand their point, but it could just as easily be an admittedly fantastic marketing ploy.
Many fans of the series are skeptical about what the final result of this remake will be, without Hideo Kojima involved this time around, saying it might not be what they were expecting. For now, the Japanese company has not confirmed the release date for this game. Some rumors and leaks are saying that it will be released this year, but that remains to be confirmed.
