The 2024 EE BAFTA Film Awards were held on Sunday in London where actressEmma Stonefor her exceptional performance as Bella Baxter inPoor Thingswon the award for Best Actress. The actress who had previously won the award for her work inLa La Land, took the opportunity to honor her mother Krista Stone. She said whileaccepting award,
“I just want to say this in case I don’t ever get a chance to again. I really want to thank my mom because she’s the best person I know in the world and she inspires me every single day and she’s always made me believe this kind of crazy idea that I could do something like this and I’m beyond grateful.”
Stone continued,
“Without her none of this exists, including my life so thanks for that too, mom. Thank you so much.”
The actress had jokingly mentioned that she played a British person in the movie and Neil did not laugh at her when he was teaching her how to pronounce some British words. She added a thank you to England for accepting her.
